The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched in the year 2015 by Honorable Minister of Human Resource Development and it is approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). NIRF outlines a methodology to rank the institutions across the country. There are distinct rankings for diverse types of institutions which depends on their area of streams such as Engineering colleges, Management colleges, Universities, Pharmacy, Law and Architecture institutions and the framework uses certain parameters like "Stake Holder Perceptions", "Research & Professional Practices", "Teaching & Learning resources","Outreach and Inclusivity" and "Graduation Outcomes" for ranking purpose.
These parameters are formed into five clusters and each cluster is allotted certain weightages. Firstly teaching & Learning resources relevant to the core activities and also include strength of the students & Faculty student ratio. Research & Professional practice related to the superiority in teaching, Graduation outcome parameter applicable to vital test of efficiency in core learning and teaching procedure. Outreach & Inclusivity parameter mainly emphasis on the representation of women and also relevant to the appropriate facilities offering for the economically & physically challenged students and the last one that is Stake Holder Perception also known as Peer Perception which gives major importance for the perception of the college.
