Students must be aware of major changes implemented to MHT CET 2026 by authority. Here are some of those changes:
1. The MHT CET will take place two times a year.
From this year onwards , the MHT CET will be conducted in two sessions during each year. The first will be in April, and the second will be held in May. This will allow students more options to improve their scores if needed. Previously, the MHT CET was conducted only once a year.
Students can appear for one or both sessions. For example, if a student takes both sessions, then the high score among two will be considered for admission, similar to JEE Main Pattern.
2. All candidates must now have an Aadhaar number and an APAAR ID to register.
As of 2026, students must have both an Aadhaar number and an APAAR ID in order to register and complete their MHT CET form.
As a result of these two new requirements, the application process has become more strict. And, students will have to ensure that the Aadhaar details they provide correspond with the details included on their school/college certificates.
3. Increase of MHT CET 2026 Registration Fee (Expected)
It is expected that the registration fee for the MHT CET in 2026 will be increased compare to previous year. There is speculation that it may range from an additional INR 150 to an extra INR 250 to take an entrance exam. However, we need to wait for the official announcement by the authority.
4. MHT CET Now Aligned with National level Entrance Exams Patterns
The MHT CET has aligned its examination pattern with other national level examinations such as JEE Main. This provides an option to take the MHT CET in two different exam cycles during each admissions year. Therefore, it allows students to take the exam on two separate sessions. If students fail to perform well in 1 session, they can retake and score high.
Candidates who are preparing to appear for MHT CET in 2026, must be aware of all the important dates. Successful registration will allow candidates to download their MHT CET 2026 Admit Cards from the official MHT CET website. It is expected to be released in March 2026. Authority have already updated the MHT CET 2026 Exam Date for the both the sessions.
