Cochin University of Science and Technology is highly recognized as CUSAT. It started in 1971, serving 50 years of excellence in the academic field in Kochi, Kerala. CUSAT is a state University and approved by UGC and AICTE. This University offers only a full-time program where the campus is spread over 108 acres of land. Cochin University of Science and Technology courses are diversified into UG, PG, Pre-doctoral and Doctoral standards. Under UG level, they offer B-Tech, B-Tech lateral, B.Voc, and LLB. Admissions at CUSAT

Cochin University of Science and Technology admission for UG and PG programs varies based on the educational criteria and selection requirements. There is no availability for CUSAT direct admissions. The University also conducts CUSAT CAT exams for specific courses. UG courses like B-Tech, B.Voc, LLB, and B-Tech lateral require passing their 10+2 board exams with a min of 50% aggregate in the science stream.

For PG courses like MBA, M-Tech, M.Sc., MCA, MA, M.Phil, and LLM, the admission criteria are to have completed their UG degree of three years in a relevant field without any backlogs.

The students must take up the CUSAT CAT exam for specific courses. The admission will be based on the cut-off scores of the academic and the entrance exam. CUSAT CAT is conducted for most CUSAT courses like B-Tech, MBA, M.Sc., LLB, LLM, MA, and more.

There is no reservation policy in CUSAT. Therefore, academic records play a major role in the admission process. The eligible candidates must submit the application form online by paying the applicable fees.

B-Tech admissions at CUSAT

• The Course duration is 4 years, where the applicants must have completed their 10+2 board exam with 60% aggregate scores.  
• CUSAT B-Tech admissions are based on a University entrance exam called CUSAT CAT.  
• 11 specializations are available for the students to choose from the authority. 
• Students can also apply for lateral admissions for B-Tech at CUSAT for those who have completed their diploma for three years in a relevant subject. 
• CUSAT B-Tech fees are INR 90,740 per annum. 

MBA admissions at CUSAT

• Under the management field, CUSAT offers an MBA program at the PG level.
• To be eligible for MBA admissions at CUSAT, the candidates must have completed their UG degree in any field with a min of 50% aggregate.
• The scope for selection is higher if the candidates appear for the entrance exam like CUSAT CAT at the University level or other national level exams.

M-Tech admissions at CUSAT

• For the M-Tech, admission at CUSAT requires to have completed their graduation degree in B-Tech along with GATE scores.

The application process for CUSAT

CUSAT provides admission for all the courses through an entrance test held by the University or a national-level qualifying test. The Cochin University of Science and Technology admission process will be available online.

Firstly, the candidates must register by visiting the official website.

• Applicants must click on the New Candidate Registration.
• Start filling up the details, such as Name, DOB, contact details, and a valid and active Email ID.
• Choose the registration criteria as applicable for the applicant.
• The candidate must select a security question from the dropdown list and enter the correct answer.
• Students must enter the security PIN shown on the page and click the Confirm button to complete the registration process.

Using the OTP, students must log in to the admission portal and fill in the application form.

• Students can click on the online application form link to fill in the details.
• Fill in the application form with personal and educational details.  
• Candidates must submit the filled-up details and upload their recent photograph and signature in a specified file size.
• Lastly, make the online payment for the application fee in online mode either by Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card.

Cochin University of Science and Technology placement will be conducted annually. According to the recent trends, the University has seen many recruiters visiting the campus from 2020. CUSAT has its own dedicated placement training cell with a qualified team. The registered candidates will get the training to face the interviews by the end of their final year of the UG or PG course. The team's main target is to train the students to crack aptitude tests, GD, and PI rounds of the interview, along with focusing on the personality development of the students. Hostel facility at CUSAT 

CUSAT hostel accommodation is offered with all the basic amenities needed for the students. There are 13 hostel buildings within the campus area of the University. Out of 13, 8 buildings if for boys and 5 are for girls. Some of the facilities offered at the CUSAT hostel are a mess hall, TV, Playgrounds, etc., along with the lodging requirements. The hostel fee structure at CUSAT is INR 17.9 K per annum. The cost of a hostel is the same for boys and girls.
