The MAT Exam is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) every year. Over 600 Business Schools accept the MAT Score and percentile to offer MBA and PGDM Admissions to many students. To promote inclusivity, the MAT 2025 Exam will be conducted in the Computer-Based Mode (CBT) and Physical Mode, which makes it highly accessible for management aspirants. MAT is conducted four times a year: February, May, August, and December.
The MAT Exam is not an exam that tests your theoretical knowledge. This is an exam that requires the student to apply their practical brain and attempt the questions at a proper speed. The students need to attempt 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) within 120 minutes. The MAT 2025 Exam will judge the students based on their knowledge of Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, and Economics & Business Studies.
The students are allotted physical centres and venues with their respective timings in the admit card. For the CBT Mode, the students need to visit their exam centre and attempt the exam through the computer which is provided in the centre. For the PBT Mode, the students will be provided with an OMR Sheet at their exam centres for the completion of their MAT 2025 Exam.

The students who are applying to appear for the MAT Exam in 2025 shall ensure that they satisfy all the eligibility conditions beforehand. The MAT Exam is highly inclusive as it does not require the students to satisfy any stringent requirements per se. However, the basic mandatory conditions, such as completing a bachelor's degree and having valid citizenship proof, are to be satisfied. All of the criteria to be considered by the students are mentioned below.
Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute. The conducting body does not specifically require students from a commerce background. Candidates from Science, Commerce, and Arts backgrounds can apply for the MAT 2025 Exam.
Moreover, if any student has not completed their bachelor's degree, they can also apply for the MAT Exam. The student should be in the final year of their bachelor's program. They can appear provisionally but must provide proof of passing the degree at the time of admission. If the student fails to provide their marksheet after clearing the MAT 2025 Exam, their candidature will be rejected.
Any student who has completed a professional course and holds professional qualifications such as CA (Chartered Accountancy), CS (Company Secretary), or ICWA (Cost and Works Accountancy) is also eligible to appear for the MAT 2025 Exam.
Suppose the students are worried about scoring a minimum percentage of marks in their bachelor's degree to appear for the MAT 2025 Exam. In that case, they can sigh a sense of relief because MAT, through AIMA, does not require any student to score a minimum percentage of marks in their undergraduate degree. However, the top private MBA colleges in India usually require students to score approximately 50-80% marks in their bachelor's degree.
The students can appear for the MAT 2025 exam at any age. There is no lower age limit or upper age limit for students of any category. Fresh graduates and working professionals of any age can apply. Moreover, the students can also give multiple attempts at the MAT Exam if they fail to clear at once. There is no restriction on the number of times a candidate can take the MAT exam. Candidates may also appear in multiple sessions within the same academic year, as there are four different sessions conducted in one academic year.
The students, while completing their online registration process, shall have a valid email ID and phone number that the candidate frequently accesses. While appearing for the exam, a hard copy of the MAT admits card with an attached photo and a valid original photo ID (college ID, voter ID, passport, driving license, or Aadhaar Card) is mandatory at the test center.
The MAT 2025 Exam Pattern is amended by the conducting body, i.e., AIMA. The new pattern will judge the students based on their practical capabilities of solving and understanding the questions. Moreover, the MAT 2025 exam pattern has been revised to provide a balanced and comprehensive assessment of management aptitude.
The MAT 2025 Exam will have five different sections, i.e., Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, and Economics & Business Studies. Under these separate sections, some highly important topics are covered, which the candidates shall attempt. The students can attempt these questions in any order according to their comfort and understanding. Each section will comprise 30 questions, which in total will constitute 150 questions. The pattern remains the same for both PBT and CBT modes, and the maximum mark that the students can score is 150. The MAT Exam will have a negative marking of 0.25 and a positive marking of 1.
All of the detailed information about the MAT 2025 Exam Pattern is mentioned below in a tabular format. Additionally, the students are advised to check the previous year's question papers for the actual reference of the Exam Pattern.
