Overview Punjab Agricultural University

The university was founded in 1962 and is approved by UGC and ICAR. The main campus of the Agricultural University of Punjab covers an area of ??1,222 hectares (Schools and Residential 531 Acre and Research Farms is 691 Acre). Each college has its own buildings, with two or three floors, which house different departments. All the faculties of the university are very experienced and guide the students in every way. Each faculty has practical experience in pedagogy when adapting to modern technologies. PAU was voted as the agricultural state university number 1 by ICAR.

  • The university offers several programs in colleges such as College of Agriculture, College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, College of Basic Sciences & Humanities and College of Home Science.
  • The University has been ranked first by the Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding among all agricultural institutes in the country for the development of historical varieties.
  • There are separate hostels for girls and boys. For foreign students there is a separate international hostel with special facilities available.
  • Students have several scholarships available, such as the government of Punjab Scholarship, Sports Scholarship, Dr. GS Kjusj Scholarships, Alumni Medal for plant pathology with a cash price of INR 25,000 / - will be awarded to the student deserving of M.Sc. awarded and many more.
  •  Each institute has a sufficient classroom, teaching aids, research laboratories, seminar rooms, conference hall, computer room and committee rooms.

 The university has several conference rooms with different capacities, which are suitable for different types of use. There are two exam rooms for 1000 students. The sports infrastructure in the institute has Astroturf Hockey Ground, Football, Shooting Range, Cycling Velodrome, etc. that is available for students. The university has a 24-bed campus hospital equipped with a digital X-ray & clinical laboratory facilities. The library is located in a majestic five-story building with an area of ??93,320 square meters. It has capacity for 760 people in five reading rooms with Wi-Fi.

The eligibility for MBA admissions is to have completed their graduation degree in any stream with appropriate CGPA. Along with that, they must also have appeared for the MET entrance exam with valid cut-off scores conducted by PAU.

Seeking B.Sc.in agriculture admission at Punjab Agricultural University, you must appear for the university's CET (Common entrance test). After qualifying in the entrance test, you must participate in the counseling/interview for further selection. You shall have possessed 12th examination in the science stream with a minimum 75% aggregate score to appear for the entrance test

This is a state university where direct admission to Punjab Agricultural University is not accepted and seats will be allotted only through academic merit in the previous qualifying exam.

For doing M. SC in Microbiology from Punjab Agricultural University, you need to pay an amount of INR 70,370 in the 1st year and INR 38,700 in the 2nd year, and so the total expenditure will be approximately INR 1.09 Lakhs.
