The training and placement department of the university is coordinated by the senior-most faculty members who have many links with research and industrial organisations.
The department has a good relationship with the student placement committee, consisting of students from all the departments.
The student placement committee has nearly 26 members, of which 12 members are from B.Tech, 7 members from the dual degree, 1 from MBA, and 4 from M.Tech.
The department has greater links with national and international organisations, alumni who support providing placement opportunities to the students.

The university campus has nearly 10 hostels, i.e., 1 for PhD married students, 2 for girls, and 7 for boys, in which 2 hostels are for new joiners.
The dining hall is present within the hostel, which can accommodate more than 300 students at a time.
The hostel has a 24/7 water supply, including purified water for drinking, and has a high-speed Wi-Fi facility for the students.
The canteen has a separate set of workers for cooking who cook both veg and non-veg food for the students as per the demand at a reasonable rate.
Gym, Music room, a court for indoor games, and a library are present in the hostel as a recreational facility, and students excel academically.

NIT provides the students with knowledge about the basic requirements in the building and construction field. The students are provided with live examples using software, which help them improve their innovative thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The candidate must have 12th standard or HSC education from a recognised/national board with mathematics as one of the subjects. To get admission in the university, the students have to clear the national-level entrance exam called NATA according to the category cutoff.
The management courses provided to the students in NIT improve their managerial, employability, entrepreneurship, and leadership qualities. The students are trained, so they are adaptable to the changes that occur regularly in the industrial sectors. The candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree from any stream with a good percentage and should score a good rank in the entrance exams like GMAT, CAT, and XAT as per the reservation cutoff.
The candidate must have a B.Sc. or a relevant graduate degree from the science field with 45% marks for general and 40%marks for the reserved category. The students have to score a good rank in the common entrance test, and based on the merit list, the institute will call them for counselling. After counselling, the students have to attend a personal interview, and seats are allotted according to their fields of interest.
