West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board conducts an entrance examination every year to assess students to different undergraduate programs in engineering and pharmacy in West Bengal. A total of 36,000 seats are available in the entrance test's participating colleges.

Currently, for the appeared candidates, there are machine-read responses, and WBJEE OMR sheets will be released. On the official website, candidates can log in and access the same.

As the WBJEE application process, candidates will be uploading the signature, photograph, and thumb impression only. The test will be conducted across different states of Tripura, Assam, and West Bengal. The examination will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates should make sure to bring the admit card during the examination. Candidates qualifying for this screening test are considered eligible for direct admission to various government and private engineering colleges in West Bengal.

The cut-off determines the choice for a specific course made by the candidates. Candidates need to secure a rank or score equivalent to the WBJEE cut off of that particular year for being eligible for counseling. WBJEE cut-off list will be accomplished following the performance of candidates in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.

WBJEE 2022 Eligibility criteria

As prescribed by the board, WBJEE aspirants need to be aware of certain eligibility criteria to fill the WBJEE application form based on various factors such as a qualifying exam, age restriction, nationality, minimum marks required, and so on.

Qualifying Exam

Candidates should have passed the higher secondary examination with a minimum aggregate score of 60% in PCM and English as a language paper.

Age Restriction

WBJEE lower age limit: Candidates seeking admissions to all the courses should have attained the age of 17 years as of 31st December before sitting for the exam, and there is no upper age limit
WBJEE upper age limit: Candidates seeking admission to marine engineering course where an upper age limit is 25 years of age and the lower age is 17 years

For seeking admissions to Engineering or Pharmacy courses, general academic qualification WBJEE Eligibility Criteria are defined below:

  • Candidates should have appeared or passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from the state or central board of Education.
  • The applicants must be obtained a minimum of 45% aggregate marks for the general category (40% aggregate marks for the reserved category) in the 12th examination.
  • For admission to the Jadavpur University, candidates should have 60% marks for the general category and 55% marks for the reserved category.
  • The candidates should have chosen Physics, Chemistry, and any mathematics/biology/biotechnology/computer science as compulsory subjects in the 12th examination.

WBJEE Application Form 2022

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-level entrance examination held in the month of July 2021. WBJEE 2021 application form will be published in February, and interested applicants shall apply online on the official site. WBJEE Board organizes this entrance test every year. Qualified candidates in the entrance exam shall apply and get admissions for various UG courses in Pharmacy, Engineering & Technology, and Architecture. Also, students qualified will be eligible to take admissions into different courses in various Govt. universities, colleges, and self-financed West Bengal institutions.   • Applicants can also make the payment through the offline mode through E-challan of Allahabad bank.
  • WBJEE 2021 application fee will be INR 500. Added to this, there will be bank service charges.

WBJEE 2021 Eligibility Criteria

To get admissions for the courses through WBJEE, applicants need to be aware of WBJEE eligibility criteria. Candidates who fit the eligibility conditions will be eligible to apply for WBJEE. Few of the basic eligibility norms include General Eligibility and Qualification Eligibility, Age Limit, Nationality, etc.

General Eligibility:

Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit: For applicants applying for the course, the minimum age limit should be 17 years as of 31st December 2021. Applying student should have born on or before 31st December 2004.

Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for other courses. However, for marine engineering, the upper age limit will be 25 years as of 31st December 2021.

Qualification Eligibility (For Engineering):

Candidates should have passed the 10+2 level or its equivalent exam, which has been recognized by the State Government or Central Government concerned. Students in class 12th must-have chosen Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects, and anyone from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, and Computer Application & Computer Science having secured a minimum of 45% and above aggregate. Applicant should have qualified English at 10+2 level with at least 30% marks.

Qualification Eligibility (For Pharmacy):

Students who completed 12th level in the science stream from a recognized university will be eligible for the entrance examination. Students should have opted for Physics & Chemistry as mandatory subjects and one among Biology/ Biotechnology/ Mathematics/ Computer Science & computer applications. The minimum aggregate required will be no less than 45% marks for general category candidates, while for reserved category students, the aggregate required is 40%.

How to Fill WBJEE 2021 Application Form?

Step 1: WBJEE Registration Process

  • Visit the WBJEE official site.
  • Click on the button “Registration for WBJEE 2021”.
  • On the main page Registration form will be displayed.
  • Enter applicants Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Address, Identification type and number, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
  • Choose a password and security question, then answer, review the form and click on submit.
  • The applicant’s application number will also be displayed on the screen and sent to candidates through SMS and email.

Step 2: Application Form Fill Up

  • Candidates will have to enter their personal and educational information in the application form.
  • Fill in your category, domicile, PwD status, family income, home district, nationality, religion, and other details asked.
  • As per the applicant's preference, he/she can choose 3 WBJEE Exam centers to submit the form.

Step 3: Photograph and Signature Uploading

  • Students have to upload scanned images of their photograph (passport size) and signature (size 3kb to 30kb).
  • The candidate's photograph should also be recently taken, so it matches with the candidate’s physical features.

Step 4: WBJEE Application Fee Payment

  • After uploading the documents, the applicant will be redirected to the payment page.
  • WBJEE 2021 application fee can be paid through Debit Card/Credit Card or Net Banking.
  • Once paid under any circumstances, application form fees will not be refunded.

Once the WBJEE application form is filled, a confirmation page will be generated. If the confirmation page is not generated, that implies the application process is not completed. Candidates need to save, download and save the page till the complete admission process.

WBJEE 2022 Syllabus & Exam Pattern

WBJEE Exam Pattern gives a glimpse of how the main paper will be. Along with the brochure, the authorities will release the official exam pattern online. This objective type question paper will have two sets, and WBJEE Exam Pattern is given below:

Set 1 shall include the mathematical topics, while the 2nd part will have questions from Physics and Chemistry. Both these sets shall include 3 categories.

  • For category 1, candidates can score 1 mark for each correct answer, and for each wrong answer, ¼ marks will be deducted.
  • For category 2 papers, the rate will be 2 marks for each right answer, and -1/2 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • In category 3, one or more options can be correct, and each correct answer will yield 2 marks. There is no negative marking for this category.

WBJEE Mock Test

WBJEE 2022 Admit Card

Just for verification purposes, a small piece of document will be released, known as the WBJEE admit Card, and will be available to download a week before the examination. Those candidates registered successfully can download the admit card through the official website of WBJEE by invading the registered application number and password, and one thing is that there is no hard copy of the WBJEE admit card will be sent via post.

Allocation of the examination center will be based on the candidate's choices during the online form fill-up. Candidates must bring the admit card and one photograph to the examination center.

However, the board's discretion in allocating the examination center shall be final. No request for change of allocated center will be entertained under any circumstances. The venue of the final exam will be mentioned in the admit card.

WBJEE 2022 Results & Score Card

Results for WBJEE will be announced via online mode, and candidates will check their results on the official website.

The results will carry the total marks, an individual score of each subject, and all India rank. Usually, after a month of the exam, WBJEE results will be announced.

Candidates can check their results online by entering the date of birth, Roll number, and security pin displayed on the page. Announcement of results is followed by WBJEE counseling.

Next to this, seat allotment is accomplished for admission in the different Government Colleges, Private Self-financed institutions, and Universities in West Bengal.

WBJEE 2022 Counselling & Admission

The WBJEE counseling process will begin after the declaration of the results. The counseling for the entrance test will be done in 3 rounds.

Separate counseling is undertaken for candidates who have qualified for JEE Main and WBJEE entrance examinations online.

The whole counseling process is an online mode, and the counseling form can be availed once the results are declared. For students who have qualified for JEE Main will be exempted from appearing for WBJEE, and such candidates can directly apply for the college.

Is it possible to submit the Application form via offline mode?

Details on the Application form:

  • Submission of the Application form has to be done via online mode.
  • The application form will be made available on the official website through online mode only.
  • So the candidates can fill in all the details and make the payment via online mode itself.
  • Acknowledgment Form copy has to be kept for future reference.
  • There is no option for submitting the application form via offline mode. 

At the time of  Application form registration, which all documents are needed? Is it a compulsion to upload the required documents?

Documents that are needed at the time of Application form registration are:

  • Recent passport size photograph colored one, Candidate’s signature, category certificate, Left thumb impression, 10th marks card or Admit card, and Income certificate.
  • The documents should be scanned images.
  • If the candidate doesn’t upload anyone, the Application form wouldn’t be accepted. 


I want to know about the details on the Form Correction Window?

Details on Form Correction Window:

  • One-time facility for the candidates to correct, modify, or edit the application form information.
  • Initially, if the candidate has filled in wrong information during the WBJEE application process, they can correct it during the Form Correction Window.
  • There is also a Facility for Uploaded Images Correction. 

Actually, I have misplaced my Admit Card, so how will I attend the online Counseling process? 

  • Admit Card is very much necessary till the admission process gets over. 
  • Aspirants need to produce the original Admit card at the time of the Counselling process. 
  • If the candidate has misplaced the Admit card, he/she is required to collect the Duplicate admit card and make the required payment of Rs 500. 
  • Then the admit card can be produced during the Counseling process.

If I’m not able to re-upload the correct scanned image of photograph or signature, will my Application be accepted or not? 

  • An application form will not be accepted if the candidate wouldn’t re-upload the scanned images of the photo or signature in a prescribed manner. 
  • Admit cards will not be given to the candidate if the Application form filled is not in proper format as per the guidelines. 
  • The candidates need to be careful while filling in the details and uploading the appropriate documents in the right manner.

After I re-uploaded the scanned photo and signature in the Application form, what is this status of "Admin approval required"? 

  • Admin approval required is the status where if the aspirant re-uploads the documents in an inappropriate format and if it is notified to board,
  • Then the SMS will be sent to the aspirant’s mobile number about the candidate's mistake while re-uploading the documents in the Application form.
  • Then the candidate needs to make the required correction in re-uploading of photo/signature in the Application form.

As I want to check the Result and have actually forgotten my password, what can be done?

Details to check Result:

  • If the candidate has forgotten the Result login page's password, then the candidate needs to click on ‘Forgot Password,’ which will be mentioned below the login.
  • The popup will then ask you to enter your email address or mobile number.
  • Then you will be able to access the new password to check the Result.

How could one challenge for Answer Key if they have not satisfied with the Answer Keys?

  • If the candidate is not satisfied with the Answer Key, there will be a link given for challenging the model Answer Key.
  • The candidates need to click on it.
  • The candidate needs to make the payment of Rs 500 for 1 question.
  • Payment has to be done via Credit/Debit/Net Banking or E-Challan.
  • The payment that the candidate will make is non-refundable. 

What documents have to be taken apart from Admit Card to the examination center?

  • Documents that have to be carried apart from Admit card are Institute Identity card, PAN Card/Aadhaar Card/ Voter ID/ Driving License.
  • A 10th or 12th Admit card is also required.
  • Admit card is significant for appearing on the exam. 
  • If the candidate fails to carry, then he/she will not be allowed for the exam.

I want to know the number of Participating Institutes this year? 

Participating Institutes:

  • There are lot many colleges/institutes which accept scores.
  • The aspirants will be getting the allotment in any institutes during the Counselling process. 
  • There are in and around 104 Participating Institutes that will give admission to the eligible students. 
  • Depending on the candidate’s performance, the seat's allotment takes place. 

I want to know the process of deciding the  Cut off? 

Details on the process of deciding the Cut off:

  • If the aspirants are attending for both the papers, they will get both PMA and GMR if they get the same marks or above the cutoff.
  • This will be decided by the West Bengal board itself.
  • Depending on the institutes, Cutoff differs.
  • WBJEE Participating institutes will release their own cutoffs for their various programs. 

If I have lost the original  Rank Card, will I get the duplicate one?

  • If the candidate has lost the original Rank Card, they will duplicate the rank card.
  • The candidate needs to make Rs 500 to obtain the Rank Card of the duplicate one.
  • The payment has to be done via Demand Draft. 
  • The rank card must be kept safe until THE admission process is not done. 


May I know all documents that have to be carried during the exam day?

One must carry the following Documents during the Day of the exam:

  • One must need to carry a hard copy of  Admit card, i.e., a Hall ticket.
  • The candidate needs to carry a copy of a color photograph, which has been uploaded in the online application form.
  • One must carry any original photo ID such as an Aadhaar card or Pan Card or Voter ID or Passport or 10th standard admit card or School ID card. 


Suppose, if I lose my original  Rank card, will I be able to get a duplicate copy of it?

  • As  Rank card will be made available till the last week of July. The candidates can download it online. 
  • The candidates can also save it in their Computer system after downloading the Rank Card.
  • Even if you want to opt for a Duplicate rank card, even after the admission process from the WBJEE Board, the candidate can obtain it by the last week of July. 
  • The candidate needs to pay the fee of Rs 500 via DD and can apply to the Board in the name of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable in Kolkata.


If I want to challenge the Answer key, what shall I do? 

To challenge the  Answer key, the candidates have to do the following process:

  • The one who is not satisfied with the Answer key's responses can raise their objections with valid proof and prescribed amount till the mentioned date and time.
  • The amount that has to be paid costs Rs 500 per question.  
  • After considering the valid objections, the board will publish the final Answer key and freeze it.

  • Total questions of 155 are divided among Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
  • Conducted via Offline mode or OMR pattern (Blue/Black Ball pen) with a Total 4 Hours duration.
  • The exam will be conducted in the English language.
  • The questions asked in the exam are MCQs.
