Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering is the top engineering college in India. It was founded under the support of the Dhanalakshmi Education Trust, set up near Tambaram in Chennai in 2001. DCE is the brainchild of the former professor of Anna University, Dr. V.P Ramamurthi. AICTE approves the college. It is also a fellow institution of IIPE (Indian Institute of Professional Education), a college that offers coaching for professional entrance exams. Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering Tambaram emerged as one of the Distinguished Centre for Engineering & Technical Studies.

Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering Courses includes B Tech in five specializations and M Tech in three. B Tech is available in CSE, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, ECE, EEE, and Mechanical Engineering. M Tech is available in Embedded Systems, CSE, and CAD/CAM. Besides, NBA accredited two B Tech courses, CSE and ECE. Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering Admission is based on entrance tests, academic merit, and seat allotment through counseling administered by Anna University. Dhanalakshmi College B Tech admission is based on 10+2 merit followed by counseling. After the announcement of the 12^th results, interested applicants must register for TNEA counseling based on the 12^th marks. Later, counseling officials will publish the TNEA Rank list. Through this, each registered applicant will hold a TNEA Rank. Later, students must choose DCE as their preference. Based on rank, seats will be assigned to the candidates. Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering Counselling Code is 1405. Valid TANCET scores are used to determine admission to the M Tech programs.

Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering hostel facilities is available for Male & Female candidates. In the boy's hostel, 500 students can accommodate. While in the girl's hostel, 350 students can accommodate. All the necessary facilities are available in both the residence. Hygienic & Delicious food is served through Mess. Special Coaching classes are available for Hostellers during reading hours. DCE hostel fees is INR 50,000.
