Eligibility Criteria/Cut-off for Admissions 2020

VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) was started in the academic year 1992 and is currently having Deemed University status by UGC received in the academic year 2008. The Institute has been offering Nautical Science, Animation, Maritime Studies, Coastal & Ocean Engineering, Film & Television Production etc. courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The students seeking admission to the UG courses offered in the Institute must have 10+2 as basic eligibility with at least 50% marks. and for PG, Graduation or Master’s degree in relevant stream with at least 50% marks from a recognized university is required.

The Institute has three modes of applying to the course such as through Post, online mode & direct mode. The application fee would vary from each mode of application process.

  • Application process for professional courses takes place every year in the month of May through VEE exam followed by Personal Interview.
  • Other courses admission will be purely based on the marks obtained in qualifying marks and performance in personal interview round.
  • UG courses have duration of three years to four years and PG courses have two years to four years.
  • Valid score in CAT or MAT or XAT or VEE exam is required for MBA admissions.

VISTAS B.Tech Admissions:

VISTAS offers 13 specializations in several areas for duration of four years under B.Tech course offered at undergraduate level. The Institute accepts students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent in science stream with relevant subjects from standard board and the admission process for B.Tech course will be based on VEE score or merit in the qualifying exam.

VISTAS B.Sc. Admissions:

The Institute does offer B.Sc. course with several specializations in the streams of engineering, science, computer application, hotel management and aviation etc. The students applying for B.Tech course must have basic eligibility of 12th or equivalent with relevant subjects from a familiar central or state board. The students will be allotted with seats in B.Sc. course by the Institute based on the performance in VEE exam or qualifying exam.

VISTAS BA Admissions:

The VISTAS offers two specializations in Arts stream at bachelor’s level for the students with duration of three years. The students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent in relevant stream from renowned board will be eligible for applying to BA course. The selection process in the university will be based on performance in VEE or Qualifying exam.

VISTAS B.Com Admissions:

Three specializations in commerce stream for duration of three years is offered by the Institute at bachelor’s level. The students must have passed in 10+2 or equivalent in Commerce stream in order to qualify for the course. The Institute conducts entrance test (VEE) for the students seeking admission to the courses. The selection process will either be based on merit in qualifying exam or Institute’s entrance exam.

VISTAS Other UG courses Admissions:

Other undergraduate courses offered by the Institute are B.Pharm, BPT, BCA, BCA (Hons), BBA, BA LLB (Hons) and B.Sc. + B.Ed. integrated courses. The students applying for UG course must have passed their HSC level education in relevant subjects from a well-recognized central or state board. The Institute conducts an entrance test for admission process and the admission committee decides who has to attend the entrance exam and who will be selected directly based on the merit in qualifying exam.

VISTAS MBA Admissions:

The Institute does offer Business Administration course at postgraduate level for duration of two years. The students are supposed to hold bachelor’s degree in relevant stream for all specializations and 10+2 or equivalent for integrated course from a renowned board. Selection for the course will be based on the performance in CAT or MAT or XAT or VEE exam.

Admission process in the Institute is based on the students’ performance in qualifying exam and students applying for Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering must have valid score in GATE exam.

The Institute accepts admission to Master of Arts (MA) course based on the merit in the qualifying exam. Basic eligibility specified by the Institute for applying to MA course is Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Commerce or Business Administration or Science for MA in English and any bachelor’s degree for MA in Film & Television Production.

VISTAS MCA Admissions:

Computer Application is a course that is offered by the Institute at postgraduate level for duration of three years. Students seeking admission to MCA course in VISTAS must have basic eligibility of Bachelor’s degree with statistics or Mathematics or any equivalent degree along with Mathematics in 10+2 level. The Institute selects students with good performance in the qualifying exam that is bachelor’s degree.

VISTAS Application Process:

  • The students must submit necessary documents along with the application form by paying application fee through online mode with Net Banking or other E-mode of payment.
  • The students can also download the application form from the official website and submit the form to the Institute along with necessary documents and DD of INR 900/-
  • The Application form along with registration fee has to be sent to the Institute as a registered post.
  • International students are required to attach the required documents.

Hi Daniel, 

  • Admission for B.Tech is based on the score obtained in TNEA entrance examination.
  • Last date for TNEA application form is on 2nd June 2018 and admission is based on the TNEA score.

Admission in Vels University For Btech:

  • admission will be through VEE Entrance exam.
  • Candidates having 60% in +2 are eligible for marine engineering.
