Hindustan University Admission

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) was formerly started with Hindustan College of Engineering in 1985 and is informally known as Hindustan University. The University has a tag of Deemed to be University from the UGC board in the academic year 2008. HITS is offering numerous specializations at undergraduate, postgraduate and research level programs in the streams of Engineering, Science and Commerce.

The students seeking admission to the University will have to appear for an entrance test held by the University or other National Level exams. For a few programs, admission will be based on merit in the qualifying exam. The admission process in HITS usually takes place in January month.

HITS Admission Schedule:

HITS B.Tech Admissions:

The students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics and Physics subject were made compulsory with aggregate marks of 50% from a well-known authorized body and separately with 60% marks in Mathematics subject. The students will be selected for admissions based on marks obtained in HITSEEE and the qualifying exam.

The B.Tech program is carried out for four years with eight semesters with 12 specializations that the students can choose based on their entrance exam marks.

HITS B.Sc. Admissions:

The University offers a B.Sc. program for students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent with minimum marks from an authorized university. The B.Sc. course has nine specializations available to pick their desired specializations. The selection and seat allotment will be based on the performance in the qualifying exam.

HITS B.Voc Admissions:

B.Voc is a three-year degree course that the University offers with five specializations that need basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent with approval from the TN Government. The students will be finalized for admissions based on marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

HITS Other UG Admissions:

Other UG courses offered by the University are BBA, B.Com, BCA, B.Li.Sc., B.Des and B.Arch for the students who satisfy the basic eligibility criteria prescribed by the University. The students applying for the B.Arch course will be selected based on their performance in the NATA exam (not less than 200). Admission to B.Des is based on a Design Aptitude test followed by a personal interview round. Another course admission will be based on the performance in the qualifying exam.

HITS M.Sc. Admissions:

Science course is offered at the postgraduate level by the University with two specializations for two years. The basic eligibility required for applying to the course is B.Sc. in applicable specialization with approval from TN Government. The students will be selected for admission based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

HITS M.Tech Admissions:

The University offers an M.Tech program with numerous specializations for two years, four semesters. The basic eligibility required by the students to apply for the program is B.Tech or BE or B.Sc. with relevant specializations from a well-known university. 

HITS MBA Admissions:

Business Administration is a Management program offered at the postgraduate level for two years. The selection process in the HITS will be based on performance in the qualifying exam that is Bachelor's degree in either Science or Computer Science with Mathematics subject.

HITS MCA Admissions:

Basic eligibility required to apply for the MCA program is Bachelor's degree with Mathematics subject either at UG or 10+2 level or M.Sc. in relevant discipline from a recognized board. The students will be allotted seats in the MCA course based on their performance in the entrance test, followed by GD and PI.

HITS M.Arch Admissions:

The University offers an architecture course at the postgraduate level for two years with two specializations. The minimum eligibility required for applying to an M.Arch course is B.Arch with at least 55% marks or equivalent degree in relevant discipline. The selection process in the University will be based on the performance in the entrance test followed by GD & PI.

HITS Other PG Admissions:

Other PG degrees offered by HITS are MA, M.Li.Sc. and M.Plan by the University. Students applying for PG courses must have basic eligibility for a bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with minimum marks from a well-recognized university. The University selects students for admission to the program based on the merit in the qualifying exam. Students will be selected for M.Plan based on their performance in the Entrance test, followed by GD & PI.

HITS Application Process:

The students seeking admission to the University will have to get the application form from the HITS official website. The students applying for PG programs will have to download the application form. They will have to submit it to the University and a DD of INR 1000/- favour the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, payable at Chennai. The students will have to pay IN 925/- and bank charges online for other programs.
