The Institute is shortly known as BIST, established in 1984 by Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust. BIST's mission is to progress as a prime Institute for research and Innovation. The institution offers under graduation and post-graduation courses in engineering and management studies. It is a Co-Ed institution with best placement facilities. I joined this college to pursue B.Tech in civil engineering. Admissions in this college are on the basis of score obtained in entrance examinations like BEEE, NATA etc. Students can appear for these exams after completion of 10+2. Mode of entrance exam is online. For admission it is compulsory that student must have secure valid score as per the cut off marks. Another basic requirement is that, student must have completed 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate with PCM as the compulsory subject. Fees structure for courses is feasible.

BIST College offers a B-Tech program for those candidates who have passed 10+2 with 45% board exams and BEEE results conducted by the institute. If the candidates do not meet the eligibility, they can approach the college authorities to check the management admission details.
