Institute of Genetic Engineering is one of the prominent educational institute which was established in the year 2003 with an aim to impart quality of education and research in Genetics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Microbiology streams. The institute is situated in Kolkata, West Bengal, recognized under UGC and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology [MAKAUT].The institute was set up by the trust called Biotech foundation in order to nurture training, education and research in Biotechnology. The Main objective of the IGE is to enhance entrepreneurial and professional skills among candidates by imparting superior education. IGE has been recognized as the first college to start Biotechnology and Genetics in West Bengal State.

• Institute of Genetic Engineering offers bachelor’s degree in BBA, BCA and B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology and Molecular Biology.
