CENTAC 2024 Application Form, Exam Dates, Eligibility, Pattern and Syllabus

CENTAC competitive exam is known for getting admissions into Undergrad engineering, management, and medical courses like B-Tech, B.Sc., and B.Pharm in colleges located in U.T. Pondicherry with various specializations in the stream, and the exam will be held as per the schedule released by the University authority. The students are suggested to look at some of the tentative dates related to this entrance examination. Here are some of the details that the students will have to keep checking to get updates on the schedule of CENTAC 2024 , which are mentioned below.

Students preparing to appear for CENTAC 2024 should get details about the conducting committee responsible for taking important considerations in setting their eligibility criteria. Understanding the standard criteria will help the aspiring students to know if they will be qualified or have the capacity to appear for the exam before filling the online application form. Here, the candidates should realize that once the Centralized Admission committee senses that the particular applicant doesn’t fit the designed criteria, the application might be discarded at any admissions stage. 

Students applying for the admissions must par the eligibility criteria mentioned below to appear for the Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC) entrance test 2024 :

• Students must have completed class 12 from a recognized board in the relevant  Science stream.
• Students should have obtained at least 45% aggregate in their class 12 board exams (40% for reserved category)
• Students should have passed in some of the compulsory subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics in their intermediate board exams.
• Any foreign resident residing in U.T. Pondicherry can apply by showing their resident certificate.

The students willing to participate in the CENTAC exam will have to follow some steps before applying for CENTAC 2024. The application/ registration process for CENTAC 2024 involves a set of stages like Registration, CENTAC Password, getting Enrolment ID, Filling the Application and Uploading scanned Photographs and other required Documents, Online payment of fees, etc.

Candidates must have an in-depth look into the details regarding CENTAC 2024 Application Form:

The CENTAC 2024 Application Form will be made live and accessible from the Third week of May 2024, as speculated by the Centralized Admission Committee. The last due date for submitting the application form with the late fee will be in the fourth week of June 2024. The application form will be released from May 2024, and students can make sure that they are registered on time for taking up the entrance test.

Step 1: Registration                                               

For Registering to CENTAC 2024, the students will have to present some of the basic details such as their name, date of birth, email-id, contact details, residence address, course specification,  choice of stream, specializations, exam details, exam center details, etc. and then press the submit button.

After submitting the form, applicants have to wait for the stipulated time until they are informed about their confirmation program and stream specialization through email or SMS. They will have to continue to complete all the other application steps.

Step 2: Uploading Documents/ Photographs     

Students will have to digitally upload their scanned copy of recent, passport-size photographs and their signature as per the form's specifications. The picture size that needs to upload should be within the specified size limit in the form.

Step 3: Application Submission                                                   

Once the other two steps are completed, a confirmation banner will be displayed on the screen, and the applicant should read it and click on ‘I accept the terms and conditions.’

The CENTAC 2024 application form will appear on the screen, and the aspirants will have to scrutinize all the details and try to modify them if necessary, and then click on ‘Save and Print’

Applicants are suggested to print out the application receipt after the above steps are completed. This has an ID for payment reference, used for transacting application fees.

Step 4: Payment of Fees

CENTAC 2024 Application fees will have to be paid through online mode using debit card/ credit card or net banking. The application fees are INR 600 for the general category and INR 300 for SC &ST category. The application fee is not refundable in any situation. The payment link for CENTAC 2024 application fees will be accessible only after the form has been submitted, and the students can proceed to pay the fees.

Step 5: Confirmation of CENTAC 2024 Application

After the CENTAC application fee's payment transaction is completed, students will get an online receipt to their mobile number, which shows the registration process's completion.

They will also get a mail on their registered email ID where the students will get a file of the complete Application Form of CENTAC 2024 clipped, and later they can access their registered accounts and get a hard copy of the application form.

To appear for the CENTAC 2024 competitive entrance exam, the students must be understood if there are any Exam Pattern changes. This will be helpful for them to know about the details like what is the mode of examination, marking criteria, important sections to concentrate on, if there is any negative marking, type of questions, the total number of questions and sections, duration of exam, etc. and will help them to have a better focus on the entrance test.

CENTAC 2024 is 3 hours or 180 minutes of exam accessible in online (computer-based test) mode exam for joining foe B-Tech, B.Sc., and B.Pharm. Courses at the state level. The students will have to attend 240 questions for 360 marks, with each question carrying 3 marks. The exam paper has 3 sections to attend with subjects like Physics & Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. The Physics & Chemistry section has 40 questions each, and Mathematics section has 60 questions, and Biology has 100 questions (Zoology and Botany). Here a new type of question pattern has been added in CENTAC 2024 , i.e., Multiple Select Question, MSQ, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

 For CENTAC 2024 admit card/ hall ticket will be issued to the candidates who have registered for the CENTAC 2024 exam and have paid the application fees along with it. The admit cards will be released on the conducting body's official website by the second week of April 2024.

Firstly, the student must log in to the CENTAC website and click on the ‘Admit card’ link and enter their login details and download the admit card/ hall ticket. The applicants must carefully check the information mentioned on the admit cards, such as the applicant's name, exam date, venue, time, and contact details. Students must also carry a valid photo ID proof issued by India's Government to the exam center. They must pin in a recent passport size photograph on the hall ticket as they uploaded in the CENTAC application form. It is also mandatory for all applied candidates to carry their admit cards at the examination center. If not, the applicant will not be allowed to appear for the examination without the hall ticket along with anyone with considerable ID proof.

Documents Required with CENTAC 2024 Admit Card

In addition to CENTAC 2024 admit card/ hall ticket, the candidate shall also carry one more valid Photo Id proof to prove their identity, such as:

• Driving License
• PAN Card
• Voter ID
• Aadhaar ID

CENTAC results in 2024 are tentative to be announced by the first week of August 2024. The result and the rank list will be released on the official website of CENTAC 2024. The CENTAC rank list can be viewed using the login credentials.

CENTAC 2024 results and the rank list include details such as the student’s name, the student’s CENTAC registration number, the applicant's roll number, section-wise scores, and overall scores. The results with rank/ merit will be available on the website until one month after the announcement. The marks secured in CENTAC 2024 will be valid for the academic year from 2024-27.

• Enter your login credentials such as CENTAC 2024 user ID and password
• Lastly, Download and save the CENTAC 2024 result, and lastly, take a print out

One of the important factors for an aspirant to know is about CENTAC 2024 qualifying and Admission cut off:

CENTAC 2024 cut-off predictor will be announced based on the student’s staging in the entrance test and their results that will get released online on the university's official website. Cut-off/ margin percentage is based on varied reasons. It is mandatory for applicants to outreach the margin criteria to qualify for the examination & to further participate in various processes.

CENTAC 2024 Admission Cut Off:                         

For increasing the chances to get admissions in the institutes located in the U.T. Pondicherry, the students should cross or reach the cut-off margin set by the University authorities. Students who clear the CENTAC 2024 exam and equate the cutoff margin announced by the Institute will later be called for the final round of selection. The cutoff might vary for the different campuses in Pondicherry and the specialization depending upon different criteria.

CENTAC 2024 will have a Cut-Off standard score that the students will have to secure to qualify for the examination. CENTAC 2024 Counseling

The Centralized Admission Committee will organize CENTAC 2024 counseling once they declare the entrance test result. The Committee will begin its counseling process from August 2024. This counseling process will include various steps such as document verification, seat allotment, and fee payment, etc.

Firstly the students will have to register themselves for the counseling process by paying the applicable fees. Later, they are advised to provide their original documents for the verification process, and finally, the seats will be allotted individually based on the CENTAC 2024 score.

While filling the application for CENTAC 2024 , the students should select their choice of exam centers (city) in U.T. Pondicherry to examine. CENTAC 2024 exam center allotment for each registered candidate will be done based on the candidate's choice and seat availability. Place of test details will be published on the admit card/ hall ticket and other details.
