OPENMAT 2024 Application Form, Exam Dates, Eligibility, Pattern and Syllabus

OPENMAT competitive exam is known for getting admissions for UG and PG Business administration courses in IGNOU with various specializations in the stream, which will be held as per the schedule released by the University authority. The candidates are advised to check some of the tentative dates related to this entrance examination. Here are some of the details that the students will have to keep checking to get updates on OPENMAT 2024, which are mentioned below. OPENMAT is usually conducted twice a year, in January and July.

The OPENMAT aspirant students will have to follow some steps before applying for OPENMAT 2024. The application/ registration process for OPENMAT 2024 involves a set of stages like Registration, OPENMAT Password, getting Enrolment ID, Filling the Application and Uploading scanned Photographs, and other required Documents, Online paying of fees, etc.

Candidates must have an in-depth look into the details regarding OPENMAT 2024 Application Form:

The OPENMAT 2024 Application Form will be made live and accessible from the last week of March 2024, as announced by the IGNOU authority. The last due date for submitting the application form with the fee will be in the Last week of April 2024. OPENMAT 2024 Application form will be made accessible through online mode on the official website.

The application form will be released from March 2024, and students can make sure that they are registered on time for taking up the entrance test.

Step 1: Registration                                                          

To register for OPENMAT 2024, the students will have to provide some basic details such as their name, date of birth, email-id, contact details, residence address, choice of stream, specializations, entrance exam details, exam center information, etc. and lastly, press submit button.

After the form's submission, applicants have to wait for a certain time until they are informed about their program and stream specialization through email or SMS. He/she will have to continue to complete all the other steps of the application.

Step 2: Uploading Documents/ Photographs     

Students will have to digitally upload their scanned copy of recent, passport-size photographs and their signature as per the form's specifications. The picture size that needs to submit should be within the specified size limit in the form.

Step 3: Application Submission                                    

Once the other two steps are completed, a confirmation pop-up will be displayed on the screen, and the student should read it and click on ‘I accept the terms and conditions.’

The OPENMAT 2024 application form will appear on the screen, and the aspirants will have to scrutinize all the details and try to modify them if necessary, and then click on ‘Save and Print’

Students are suggested to print out the application receipt after the above steps are completed. This has a payment ID for reference, which will be used for paying application fees.

Step 4: Payment of Fees                                                 

Application fees will have to be paid through online mode using debit card/ credit card or net banking. The application fee for OPENMAT 2024 is INR 1000. The amount once paid becomes non-refundable at any point in time. The payment link for OPENMAT 2024 application fees will be live only after the form has been submitted, and the students can continue to pay the fees.

Step 5: Confirmation of OPENMAT 2024 Application

After the OPENMAT application fee's payment transaction is completed, students will get an online receipt to their mobile number, which shows the registration process's completion.

They will also get a mail on their registered email ID to get a PDF file of the complete Application Form of OPENMAT 2024 attached. Later, they can access their registered accounts and print out the application form.

• For students appearing for UG courses like BCA, BBA, BA, and B.Com must have completed class 12 from a recognized board in the relevant Science stream with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
• For PG appearing candidates, they should have completed a degree in any relevant stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Some of the PG management courses are  MBA, M.Com, MCA, and MA

While preparing to attend the OPENMAT 2024 competitive entrance exam, the students must be aware of any Exam Pattern changes. This will help them to know about the details like what is the mode of examination, marking criteria, important sections to concentrate on if there is any negative marking, type of questions, the total number of questions and sections, duration of exam, etc. and will help them to have a better focus on the entrance test.

OPENMAT 2024 is 3 hours or 180 minutes exam accessible in offline (pen and paper) mode exam for joining management courses at the university level. The students will have to attend 200 questions for 200 marks, with each question carrying 1 mark. The exam paper has 4 sections to attend with categories like General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English, and Analytical Reasoning. Here a new type of question pattern has been added in OPENMAT 2024, i.e., Multiple Select Question, MSQ, and no negative marking.

OPENMAT 202 Syllabus

The syllabus for OPENMAT 2024 isn’t any particular syllabus specified by IGNOU. Still, however, the question paper will have questions diversified under 4 different sections mentioned above in part A. and Part B. There will be questions related to their academic syllabi, such as CBSE and NCERT, to clear the OPENMAT exam, and students will have to focus on studying these topics related to these subjects.

For the offline mode of OPENMAT 2024 admit card/ hall ticket will be issued to the candidates who have registered for the OPENMAT 2024 exam and have paid the application fees along with it. The admit cards will be released on the conducting body's official website by May 2024.

Firstly, the student must log in to the OPENMAT website and click on the ‘Admit card’ link and enter their login details and download the admit card/ hall ticket. The applicants must carefully check the information mentioned on the admit cards, such as the applicant's name, exam date, venue, time, and contact details. Students must also carry a valid photo ID proof issued by India's Government to the exam center. They must pin in a recent passport size photograph on the hall ticket as they uploaded in the OPENMAT application form. It is also mandatory for all applied candidates to carry their admit cards at the examination center. If not, the applicant will not be allowed to appear for the examination without the hall ticket along with anyone with considerable ID proof.

Documents Required with OPENMAT 2024 Admit Card

In addition to OPENMAT 2024 admit card/ hall ticket, the candidate shall also carry one more valid Photo Id proof to prove their identity, such as: 

• Passport
• Driving License
• PAN Card
• Voter ID
• Aadhaar ID

OPENMAT results from 2024 are tentative to be announced by July 2024 . The result and the rank list will be released on the official website of OPENMAT 2024. The OPENMAT merit list can be viewed using the login credentials.

OPENMAT 2024 results and merit list includes details such as the student’s name, student’s OPENMAT registration number, roll number of the applicant, section-wise scores, and overall scores. The results with rank/ merit will be available on the website until one month after the announcement. The marks secured in OPENMAT 2024 will be valid for the academic year from 2024-2028.

• Enter your login credentials such as OPENMAT 2024 user ID and password

OPENMAT 2024 margin will be announced based on the student’s performance in the entrance test and their results that will get released online on the university's official website. Cut-off/ margin percentage is based on varied reasons. It is mandatory for applicants to outreach the margin criteria to qualify for the examination & to further participate in various processes.

OPENMAT 2024 Admission Cut Off:                     

For enhancing the chances to get admissions in the University, the students should cross or reach the cut-off margin set by the University authorities. Students who clear the OPENMAT 2024 exam and match the cutoff margin announced by the Institute will later be called for the final round of selection. The cutoff might vary for the different campuses of IGNOU and the specialization depending upon different criteria.

OPENMAT 2024 will have a Cut-Off standard score that the students will have to secure to qualify for the examination. The cut-off margin usually depends on students taking up the exam, seat availability, level of difficulty in the exam, and considers the previous year's margin. Firstly the students have to register themselves for the counseling process by paying the applicable fees. Later, the students are advised to submit their original documents for the verification process, and finally, the seats will be allotted individually based on the OPENMAT score.

When filling out the application for OPENMAT 2024, the candidates should select their preferred exam centers (city) to examine. OPENMAT 2024 exam center allotment for each registered candidate will be done based on the candidate's choice and seat availability. Place of exam details will be printed on the admit card/ hall ticket and other details.
