Law school Admission Test [LSAT]

LSAT - Law School Admission Test

LSAT also known as Law School Admission Test contributes to being a well-renowned entrance examination which is held worldwide. LSAC or Law School Admission Council manages this entrance examination. The examination is conducted for students who are willing to seek admission in different law courses which are offered by the universities of Canada, United States, and other foreign countries. This entrance test is conducted four times every year which include June, February, December and October / September. The examination is generally conducted on the last Saturday of September or first Sunday of the month.

The examination is conducted in pen and paper mode. The examination is conducted across 16 different cities in India. Candidates who are willing to appear in this entrance examination should fill the application form. The registration form is available on the official website of LSAT. The question paper of LSAT 2021 comprises of objective type of questions. There is time allotment of 2 hours and 20 minutes for completing the question paper. No negative marks will be deducted in case of wrong answers. Until the year of 2014, only 50 colleges used to accept the scores of LSAT. 10 more colleges joined the list in the year of 2015 whereas the number of colleges was increased to 74 in the year of 2016. In the year of 2017, more than 75 colleges offered admission to candidates in post graduate and undergraduate law courses in accordance with the scores of LSAT.  The LSAT Entrance examination is going to be conducted tentatively on 21st May in 16 different cities.

It is a prerequisite that the students should fill the eligibility criteria for appearing in LSAT entrance examination. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria to avoid confusion later on as failing to meet the eligibility criteria may lead to disqualification of the candidate at a later off stage.

LSAT 2021 Exam Date

The registration for LSAT will close in the last week of April. The LSAT entrance examination is going to be conducted on 3rd week of May Results will be declared on the first week of June 2021.The following are the important dates to be followed:

LSAT 2021 Eligibility criteria

The candidates need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria to appear for LSAT entrance exam 2021.The following are the basic eligibility criteria mentioned for the candidates to sit for the exam:

For five-year Integrated LLBA Program: The candidates should pass class 10+2 from any recognized board of education. The candidates appearing for class 12th exam are also eligible. The candidates should have secured minimum of 45% marks in aggregate marks in qualified examination to get eligible.

Three-year LLB Program: The candidates having a bachelor’s degree from any UGC Recognized institute and should have secured required 45% aggregate score in order to get eligible for Three-Year LLB Program. The final year appearing candidates can also apply.

Master of Laws (LLM): Applicants must have done bachelor’s degree LLB from any recognized university with required aggregate score to get eligible.

LSAT 2021 Application Form & fees

LSAT 2021 application form is available in the official website and it can be filled up through online mode Candidates need to submit the online application form with in 2nd week of April. Candidates must log on to respective website and must fill up the application form by entering all the basic information like educational details, personal details and other relevant details which is mentioned in the form. After filling up the application form completely, the candidates will receive the LSAT registration number through the registered mail ID. Application process contains three steps mainly Registration process, Filling up the application form and Application fees payment

 Candidates can refer the steps which is given below to fill LSAT 2021 Application Form.

Step-1 Registration: At first, Candidates need to visit the official website (www.discoverlaw.in) then a new tab will for registration process. Then candidates need to register themselves by entering required details. Then registration ID and Password will be generated and the verification link will be sent for the candidates registered email ID by Pearson VUE. Candidates need to click on the verification link and should login by using credentials to fill up application from

Step-2 Filling the application form: After the successful registration process, candidates need to fill up the required details properly such as Personal Information, Contact Information, Preference of program and must choose the preferred college, educational details and other relevant information which as mentioned in the application form

Step-3 Fees Payment: LSAT application fees costs INR 3,800 and it can be paid through online mode (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking). After paying the required application fees candidates need to cross check the details once before submitting the application form.

Law school admission test (LSAT) will be conducted by Law school admission council through offline mode (Pen-paper based). The Examination will be conducted on last week of April 2021.Before appearing for entrance exam candidates are advised to know about the exam pattern properly for the better preparation and it contains the details of Examination mode, Sections, Type of Questions, Exam duration, Marking scheme Etc.

The question paper of LSAT will comprise of total 4 sections namely Analytical Reasoning, 1st Logical Reasoning, 2nd Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. There will be approximately 92-100 objective type questions in the paper. For each correct answer 1 mark will be provided and there will no negative marking. There will be a time allotment of 35 minutes for every section. Thus, candidate requires finishing the entrance paper within a time period of 2 hours and 20 minutes.

LSAT 2021 Admit Card

LSAC (Law School Admission Council) will provide the admit card for the LSAT (Law School Admission Test) only for the candidates who have registered successfully through online. LSAT 2021 admit card will be available in online mode and the registered candidates can download it through the official website. To access the admit card candidates need to login by using their registered Mail ID and Password. The admit card is an important identity and it consists the information like candidate’s name, registration number/roll number, Exam center venue, Date & Time etc.

The registration number will be unique for every student. Candidates need to carry the admit card without fail on the examination day at exam center. If candidates who fail to bring an admit card will not be allowed to appear for entrance exam. Along with an admit card candidates should bring any of the ID proof (Aadhar Card/ Voter ID/Pan card)

Steps to download LSAT 2021 admit card

  • Then click on the available “Admit Card Link”
  • The page will redirect to the “Login-Window”
  • Candidates must login by using the registered mail ID & Password
  • Then the LSAT Admit card will be display on the screen
  • Candidates can download the admit and must take the print out of it.

LSAT 2021 Results & Score Card

LSAT Result will be announced tentatively in the month of May. Candidates can view the results from the official website of LSAT. Results of LSAT India 2021 mentions the qualifying status of the candidates who appeared for Law school admission test. Candidates can view their results by entering their login credentials. No rank lists are issued by the authority. Instead, the results are passed to LSAT marks, in accordance with the law institutes in the country. Candidates scoring high marks will gain more preference from the candidates scoring low marks. Participating colleges will be shortlisting the candidates and invite them later on for attending the counselling session. The name of the shortlisted students will be announced in the counseling procedure.

Steps to check LSAT India 2021 Result

  • Candidates must visit the official portal
  • Click on the LSAT Result Link
  • Then candidates need to enter the registered ID and Password to log in
  • After the successful Log in, the result will display on the screen
  • Result would contain the details such as percentage of the candidate and qualifying status
  • Download the score card and take the print out it.

LSAT 2021 Counselling & Admission

Aspirants who have cleared Law school admission test (LSAT) are eligible to appear for LSAT 2021 Counselling process. The LSAT Counseling will be conducted by Law School Admission Council (LSAT) after the declaration of result and the seat allotment will be decided by several participating law schools and they receive the LSAT Score and shortlist candidates based on their rank obtained in LSAT Examination. Moreover, each participating institute has different eligibility criteria and also LSAT Counselling fees varies for each college

As per the time & date schedule candidates need to appear for LSAT Counseling session and candidates are requested to carry all the original educational certificates, passport Size Photo and LSAT Score card is mandatory to bring at the time of counselling for the document verification process. After the Counselling sessions seats will be allocated for the qualified candidates based on their rank, cut off eligibility as per their program preference.

LSAT 2021 Cut off

Pearson VUE release the LSAT 2021 cut off after the declaration of Law school admission test results. Cut off score varies for each program and it will be declared through online mode. Candidates can check the cut off list by visiting the respective portal. LSAT cut off list will be decided based on the several factors which includes Number of candidates appeared for examination, difficulty level of examination and seats availability in participating colleges. Candidates who are qualified in LSAT and who meet the cut off eligibility will be called for the LSAT Counselling session.
