LSAT - Law School Admission Test

LSAT or Law School Admission Test contributes to being a well-renowned entrance examination which is held worldwide. LSAC or Law School Admission Council manages this entrance examination. The examination is conducted for students who are willing to seek admission in different law courses which are offered by the universities of Canada, United States, and other foreign countries. This entrance test is conducted four times every year which include June, February, December and October / September. The examination is generally conducted on the last Saturday of September or first Sunday of the month.

The examination is conducted in pen and paper mode. The examination is conducted across 16 different cities in India. Candidates who are willing to appear in this entrance examination should fill the application form. The registration form is available on the official website of LSAT. The question paper of LSAT 2017 comprises of objective type of questions. There is time allotment of 2 hours and 20 minutes for completing the question paper. No negative marks will be deducted in case of wrong answers. Until the year of 2014, only 50 colleges used to accept the scores of LSAT. 10 more colleges joined the list in the year of 2015 whereas the number of colleges was increased to 74 in the year of 2016. In the year of 2017, more than 75 colleges offered admission to candidates in post graduate and undergraduate law courses in accordance with the scores of LSAT.  The LSAT Entrance examination is going to be conducted tentatively on 21st May in 16 different cities.

It is a prerequisite that the students should fill the eligibility criteria for appearing in LSAT entrance examination. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria to avoid confusion later on as failing to meet the eligibility criteria may lead to disqualification of the candidate at a later off stage. 

LSAT Exam Date

The registration window for LSAT will close in the last week of April. The LSAT entrance examination is going to be conducted on 3rd week of May in the year of 2018 . Results will be declared on the first week of June 2018 .

LSAT Eligibility criteria

The candidates need to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria to appear for LSAT entrance exam 2018 .The following are the basic eligibility criteria mentioned for the candidates to sit for the exam.

For BA LLBA: The candidates should pass class 10+2 from any recognized board of education.
The candidates appearing for class 12th exam are also eligible.
The candidates need to have a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

LLB: The candidates having a bachelor’s degree from any UGC Recognized institute and are having 45% marks in aggregate.
The final year appearing candidates can also apply.

LSAT Application Form & fees

LSAT 2018 Application form will be available online on the official website (www.pearsonvueindia.com). The registration will be available only on online mode , no other mode will be accepted in the form fill up process. The applicants need to fill all the details mentioned in the application form such as name, parent details, address, email etc., they should fill it carefully and submit the application form. The registration of LSAT 2018 has already started from September 2017 to April 2018 .
Application fee:
LSAT 2018 Registration fee cost Rs.3800/-. The payment can be made via online or by offline mode.
Online payment: the payment can be made through Visa and Master cards
Offline Payment: The offline mode payment includes payment such as Demand Draft/ banker’s Cheque. The details of the DD or the cheque payment details should be entered online and an acknowledgment slip should be collected. Followed by the actual DD/ Cheque to be send to the below mentioned address along with the acknowledgment slip.

LSAT Syllabus & Exam Pattern

  • LSAT 2018 question paper will consist of objective type multiple choice questions. The candidates need to tick the correct answer. This is a pen paper based examination.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 20 minutes. There will be 100 questions.
  • For each correct answer the candidate will get 1 mark each and there is no negative marking for the incorrect answer.
  • There will be total four sections in the question paper. Each section will have 35 minutes to answer.

LSAT Admit Card

The admit card for LSAT 2018 can be downloaded from the official website of the entrance test. The admit card will consist of several important information such as name and registration number of the candidate, time, place, and venue of the entrance test. The registration number will be unique for every student. All students should be downloading admit card from the official website. No separate admit card will be issued to them via post.

LSAT Results & Score Card

Results of LSAT exam will be announced tentatively in the month of June. Candidates can view the results from the official website of LSAT. Students can view the results by entering their login credentials. No rank lists are issued by the authority. Instead, the results are passed to LSAT marks, in accordance with the law institutes in the country. Candidates scoring high marks will gain more preference from the candidates scoring low marks. Participating colleges will be shortlisting the candidates and invite them later on for attending the counselling session. The name of the finalists will be announced in the counseling procedure.

LSAT Counselling & Admission

After the release of results, candidates require reporting to institute or colleges where they are willing to seek admission. Almost 74 law colleges in India accept the scores of LSAT entrance examination. Students require following admission rules and regulation of the specific institute or university where candidates are willing to seek admission.
