Raichur Institute of Medical Science is a government medical college in the state of Karnataka. It offers MBBS and other medical courses. The college was established in 2007 and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. It is a highly-ranked MBBS college in India. Its campus is spread across 25 acres of land. The goal of RIMS is to offer an excellent educational experience in Medicine and allied Health Sciences, fostering scholarship, research, integrity, critical thinking, and self-directed learning.

Out of these, 15% of seats are filled via the All India Quota, while 85% are filled through the state quota. In addition, the college offers PG medical courses like MD and MS.

For admission to the MBBS, the students have to appear and pass the NEET after finishing the 12th class. The counseling for MBBS will continue till all the seats are filled up. 15% of seats will be filled up through All India Quota, and 85% of the seats will be filled up through Karnataka state counseling. The AIQ counseling is conducted by the NTA in multiple rounds, i.e., Round 1, Round 2, Mop Up Round, and Stray rounds, as per the availability of seats.

Students have to submit their NEET UG score and valid proof of address and pay the course fees during counseling to complete the admission process for the medical college. NEET UG registration is currently going on, and the exam will be held on May 5.

The hostel facilities are quite decent, and the college campus is very good. It is also well-connected by road and rail routes. The hostels for boys and girls are separate and have all the basic amenities.

RIMS has a hospital that provides students with practical insight into the various medical procedures. Students in their final year are required to practice here as part of the curriculum. The hospital has a bed capacity of over 500. Apart from this, the institute has other facilities such as common rooms for boys and girls, a side laboratory, and an auditorium. The institution also has a 1200 square meters library, which has separate reading rooms for UG and PG students. It also has a number of modern lecture halls and well-maintained laboratories for the students to use.
