Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) is one of the best government medical colleges in Karnataka. The institute not only offers MBBS but also MD/MS postgraduate medical courses to students. It is affiliated to the National Medical Commission (NMC) and delivers medical education and practical clinical training at its government teaching hospital.

Students get admission in MBBS course of the college after qualifying NEET UG 2026 and participating in the counselling process which is conducted by KEA. The candidate needs to pass with NEET UG score and also participate in Karnataka NEET Medical Counselling 2026.

Eligibility – MD/MS

  • The candidate has to satisfy the following conditions to be eligible for an MD/MS course:
  • Must be a degree holder of MBBS of an institution recognized by the authority.
  • One has to finish the compulsory rotatory internship.
  • The medical degree holder has to obtain at least one registration through NMC or State medical council.
  • He/she must have been a topper in qualifying NEET PG 2026.

Documents Required for Admission 2026

  • Candidates who have applied with NEET UG/PG should have their NEET UG/PG scorecard and admit card with them.
  • Candidates must also have with them their mark sheet and certificates from class 10th onwards.
  • An MBBS degree certificate (in the case of a postgraduate program).
  • Certificate of completed internship.
  • Copy of permanent/provisional registration with the Medical Council/ State Medical Council.
  • The college transfer certificate.
  • If necessary, migrants should get a migration certificate.
  • Proof of the candidate s category if the candidate is from SC,ST,OBC etc. category.
  • Candidates should have either their Aadhar card or a Government issued identity card.

By help of the NEET entrance test we actually do get admission in the medical colleges all over India. This I got to know and I appeared for the NEET and secured valid marks so I could actually get in some nice college in my state itself. Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences cut-off marks to be secured in NEET for getting admission is between 2918-6192 and this is the general category marks. The SC and ST category students will have to secure between 40,491-60,151 rankings. NEET exam will actually be conducted every year in the month of the May and for this we will actually have to apply in the December month.

Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences admissions are done offline at the college’s admissions office or via counseling, which is done online. BIMS eligibility criteria comprises, one, the candidate should be at least 17 years of age and two, the candidate should have passed their 12th standard with PCB combination having secured a min. of 50% average marks from a recognized institute. BIMS merit admissions are done based on KCET or NEET-UG entrance exam; BIMS NEET-UG cutoff and BIMS KCET cutoff varies annually. Consequently, candidates need to look out for the threshold ranking that is required to get through. BIMS direct admissions are done based on eligibility criteria alone.

To apply for MBBS, a candidate must have finished their 10+2 board examinations with a minimum of 50% in all subjects. Furthermore, one must have taken and passed the NEET admission exam with the required cut-off score. The NEET cut-off for MBBS is 2918 - 6192, 40491 - 44311 in general. Admission to BIMS for MBBS would be offered only on the basis of NEET scores followed by national level counselling.

Hi, for general category students closing rank of NEET is 5393. So any candidate having less than this can apply for MBBS in this college

Hi, the total fee structure of MBBS is INR 63,525 so when divided for 1st year you have to pay INR 16,700, 2nd year INR 13,450, 3rd year INR 6,675 and for 4th and 5th year it is INR 13,350. The mentioned fees are for general category there is no management seats reserved
