The Engineering College was founded in 1994 by the trust called as Tamilnadu Educational & Medical. College is approved by the AICTE in Delhi and is affiliated with the Anna University. The Chennai Institute aims to create, maintain and continuously develop and improve high quality resources for the benefit of society by forming a group of citizens that has a constant need for learning and performance.

• Institute offers programs such as BE, ME and MBA. B.E in Civil Engineering, E & E, Mechanical Engineering with 60 intakes, Electronics and Communications and CSE with 120 intakes, ME in CSE and Structural Design with 18 Revenues of Intake and MBA of 60 intakes.
• The faculties in the institute are very experienced and qualified to guide the aspirants in the right direction.
• The training and placement service is open all year to facilitate contacts between graduates & recruiters. The MNMJEC Boys Hostel is located on the campus of the institute and consists of three floors with spacious and well-ventilated rooms. The girl students are housed in the D.B.Jain Women's Home located on the D.B.Jain campus. The food of Jain and Non Jain is served. The rooms are equipped with all the basic and needy amenities like solar water heater, mineral water system available for students 24 hours a day and many other facilities. The university is well located within the city limits of Chennai, just 3 miles from Park (TIDEL) on old Mahabalipuram way.
