Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology

GCELT, the short name of Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology located in Kolkata was bought up in 1919. This institute acts as one of the developer institute in the field of education and exploration on leather technology was initially happening under the name 'Calcutta Research Tannery' on the reference of ammunitions board set up by the government of India

• This institute has been approved by AICTE, New Delhi and has been affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology.
• This institute has been allied to University of Calcutta for providing training in B. Sc. (Tech) course in Leather Technology.
• The college provides all the facility for the students with library with more than 18,000 books, laboratory with modern systems etc.

This institute conducts several social programs in the college during the course of the year, by the students of the college, mostly under the banner of Students’ Welfare Association, they conducts several events like Teachers’ Day, Freshers’Welcome, Sharswati Puja, students Reunion etc.

And every year in this institute the students with great happiness and eagerness categorizes its annual Tech Fest- “ENGINERDS”. Which also include diverse events in games such as FIFA, Counter Strike, NFS Most Wanted, Poster Making competition, Cinematography competition, Softronics, Quiz, Mathematic, and Sudoku.

The students can have their relaxing time and have fun in the park with their friends which is near by the college location, and also good hotels are available too.
