Heritage Institute of Technology was set up by Kalyan Bharti Trust in the year 2001 in the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. The institute was granted autonomous status by University Grants Commission. The institute is accredited by NAAC and is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology.
Heritage Institute of Technology organizes events like annual inter college festivals namely, DAKSHH: Technical Fest comprises of robotics to coding to gaming by inviting engineers, technocrats, innovators and technologists to participate and ECLECIA: Cultural Fest organized by the Student's Council comprising of dance, drama, singing and many other cultural events.
Heritage Institute of Technology along with fest also establishes clubs such as Photography, Film and Drama Club: to encourage student’s skills in photography, stage plays and film making, Robotics Club: to enables students skills in robotics field, Rotaract Club: to inherit social and societal commitment in students and many such clubs.
