About University of Kashmir Directorate of Distance Education

To deliver education in several fields using the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode, the University of Kashmir founded the Directorate of Distance Education in 1976. It offers distance education programs at UG and PG levels in arts, science, commerce, and other streams. It is a constituent part of the University of Kashmir and is recognized by the University Grants Commission. The main campus of the University of Kashmir is spread over 247 acres. It has a great scenic set-up and is surrounded by the world-famous Dal Lake and Nigeen lake on its eastern side.

Kashmir University Distance Education Centre is in a multi-story structure with a well-stocked library, first-rate student support services, an audio-visual lab, a conference room, tastefully decorated classrooms, and a computer lab with the most recent Information and Information Communication Technology (ICT) amenities.

University of Kashmir Directorate of Distance Education Admission

The University offers a range of courses and has been recognized by the UGC and Distance Education Bureau. It also provides a 'Students aid Fund' to those who come from low-income families, but it is awarded based on merit.

Kashmir University Distance Education Admission is based on performance on academic merit. Every year, the admission process is carried out in June and July. No course has an age restriction for enrollment. Candidates must apply online because there is no other way to make admissions than online.

The University of Kashmir Distance B.Ed Course

  • With a total enrollment capacity of 3600, the University offers two-year B.Ed courses via distance learning. Candidates are chosen based on merit.
  • Candidates for such courses must have completed their graduation requirements.
  • Candidates must have earned 45% (or 40% for candidates in the Reserved Category) on their Bachelor's degree, which must have been completed in at least three years and any discipline.
  • The evaluation approach is centralized, but for ongoing evaluation, the Directorate is given authority to administer internal assessment tests, typically held following the contact programme's conclusion and accounting for 20% of the course marks.
  • In addition to the Kashmir University Distance B.Ed Study Materials accessible on the Directorate's official website, DDE offers physical materials to its students.

Kashmir University Distance Education PG Admission  

The MA, MSc, MAUR, M.Com, MAIS, and M.Ed programmes of Kashmir University are all two-year PG programmes.

  • All PG programmes have a 200-applicant limit. However, MAUR has a 700-applicant limit.
  • Bachelor's degree is the basic eligibility criteria for admission in PG courses.
  • Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed Distance Education Kashmir University must have completed their B.Ed.
  • Any Master's programme has a two-year duration and consists of four semesters with a total weight of 96 credits.
  • The Directorate is given authority to administer internal assessment tests, typically held following the contact programme's conclusion and accounting for 20% of the course marks.

PG Diploma Courses Admission at Kashmir University Distance Education

  • Graduation in the 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum grade point average of 40%, except PGDCA, where the cutoff is 50% for the Open Category and 45% for the RBA.
  • The Directorate of Admissions & Competitive Examinations, the University's competent body, oversees the whole admission process, which is conducted online.
  • Based on graduation merit, students are selected and admitted to each programme. Every year, the application process begins in June and July.
  • At the start of the program, subject experts held counselling sessions.

How to Apply for the Kashmir University Distance Education?

  • Visit the DDE Kashmir University website and select the link for the application form.
  • After carefully reading the directions, proceed to register by providing your email address and mobile number.
  • Candidates must use the username and password offered to their registered email to log in.
  • Choose the course after filling out the academic information.
  • Candidates must pay the application cost after filling out the application form.
  • The application cost can be paid online through a payment channel or offline by choosing the pay-in slip option.
  • Candidates who like to pay their application fees offline can do so at any J&K Bank Ltd. Finacle branch.

Rules & Regulations of the Admission Process

  • The statutes that apply to each course will control it.
  • Except for MA Urdu, all courses are instructed in English.
  • The only way to apply for admission is online; no offline forms are accepted.
  • A candidate's admission may be revoked at any time without giving a reason if it is discovered or brought to the University's attention that they provided false or inaccurate information when applying for admission, used dishonest tactics, or do not meet the eligibility requirements.
  • The DDE information brochure includes age restrictions, eligibility, intake, and course fees.
  • Candidates who do not report for admission by the day and time specified in the selection notification forfeit their admission, and the next qualified applicant will be offered admission.
  • The applicants must be aware that the Directorate has not permitted any institution or agency to interact with applicants for admission to any programme it has offered or is currently conducting.
  • Candidates are not permitted to take the final exam if they do not take the internal assessment tests.
  • By the current regulatory and statutory laws, the University assets the right to make changes to the admission policy, the number of seats, the fee schedule, or any other aspect of the admission or conduct of the programmes described in this prospectus.
  • Distance Education Kashmir University Results of the Semester Exam will be updated on the official website accordingly.

University of Kashmir Distance Education Facilities

  • Library - The Directorate of Distance Education has a comprehensive library with more than 65,000 books (text and reference books) on topics relating to its courses.
  • Computer labs - For programmes like PGDWD and PGDCA, as well as other related courses for various programs, this Directorate has a very good computer lab with about 40 machines.
  • WiFi - The Directorate has high-speed Internet connectivity and is completely networked. DDE also offers complete WiFi coverage.

University has released the closure notification regarding admissions. The last date for submitting the online application form for PG admission has been closed on 28th December 2020.

Hi, Admission to the University for Distance Education for B.Com is based on merit and should apply through online also candidate must undergo application process to fill the application form. Basic eligibility should be there like one must have cleared higher secondary school-II with minimum 45% aggregate.
