Admission for B Tech in Madhya Pradesh: Eligibility Criteria, Admission Procedure, Counselling & Seat Allotment Process

In Madhya Pradesh, Admissions for B Tech will be granted based on the merit marks in the 10+2 examination and based on JEE Main entrance exam score, followed by counseling, which will be conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Madhya Pradesh. The entire counseling session will be held in online mode. Eligibility Criteria for B Tech Admission in Madhya Pradesh

Academic Qualification: Candidates who are willing to apply for B Tech Programme in Madhya Pradesh shall have qualified in the 10+2 examination with a minimum 45% aggregate score in the science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as main subjects. Candidates who belong to the reserved category can attain a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in the 10+2 examination from any recognized board.

Entrance Exam Eligibility: To qualify for admission, candidates must have cleared the JEE Main Entrance Exam with a valid score. Based on the candidate's score, the authority will prepare the merit list.

Domicile Rules: In Madhya Pradesh, 90% of seats in B Tech colleges are reserved for MP Domicile/resident students whereas, only MP domicile candidates will be considered for the fees wavier scheme and other scholarship facility scheme.

B Tech Admission Process in Madhya Pradesh

Admission for B Tech in Madhya Pradesh will be provided based on the academic merit in 10+2 and through JEE Main exam followed by DTE MP online counseling. Candidates who meet the required eligibility criteria are qualify to secure admission. B Tech Admission Procedure is divided into two different categories, namely.

MP B Tech Admission Through 10+2 Merit: Candidates who have not secured a valid score in JEE Main entrance will have an option to secure B Tech admission through 10+2 examination academic merit. DTE Madhya Pradesh will prepare the merit list by considering the aggregate marks of 10+2 and all the candidates on the merit list. Such candidates will be considered for the seat allotment process.

MP B Tech Admission Through JEE Main: Candidates who have cleared JEE Main entrance exam are eligible to apply for B Tech admission. A major priority for admissions is given to the JEE-qualified candidates. DTE MP will release the separate merit list of the candidates who have applied for B Tech admission through JEE Main Score. The common merit list concludes the details like Candidates' names, category, merit rank, and JEE Main rank. Hence, candidates who feature in the rank list/merit list can participate in the seat allotment process.

Counselling Process for B Tech Admission in Madhya Pradesh

Directorate of Technical Education, Madhya Pradesh, organizes a centralized counseling process to grant admission for the B Tech program in Private, Government engineering colleges and other deemed universities. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria are eligible to participate in an online counseling session to secure admission to the desired college. Step 1: Registration: At first, candidates must visit DTE Madhya Pradesh's respective portal and must register themselves online for the counseling process. Candidates must enter the relevant details like Date of Birth, Aadhaar Number, JEE Roll Number to complete the registration process.

Step 2: Filling up the application form for B Tech Counselling: Upon successful registration, login credentials will be generated, and candidates required to log in by using those credentials to open the application form portal then proceed to fill up the application form by entering all the relevant details like personal information and contact details in a prescribed column

Step 3: Upload the documents: Candidates required to upload the scanned images of relevant educational documents, photograph along with signature according to the guidelines, and scanned copies must be in JPEG format

Step 4-Filling up the academic qualification: After uploading the documents, candidates must proceed for the next step to fill up all the academic qualifications, namely class 10th & 12th final exam registration number, passing year, name of the school/college

Step 5-Review the application form: After completing the above steps, candidates must check the information in the application whether it is in the proper format, and if any mistakes are found, make the changes.

Step 6-Submit and take the print out: Confirm the details, click on the submit option, and then take the print out of the application form for future reference.

Step 7-Option entry and choice filling-As per the DTE Madhya Pradesh's scheduled date, candidates must log in for the portal using their registered login credentials to fill up the option entry form. Candidates are advised to fill up the maximum number of colleges to get admission.

Step 8- Lock the choice: If candidates are sure about the choices filled in the option entry form, they can click on the lock option to confirm it.

Seat allotment process for B Tech Admission in Madhya Pradesh

DTE MP will declare the qualified candidates' seat allotment letter on its official website. Candidates can download the allotment letter by logging on to the official portal of DTE with registered credentials. Then candidates can access the allotment order if they are satisfied with it. Suppose candidates who wish for the seat up-gradation can re-submit the option entry form. Candidates will be provided two chances to upgrade their seat allotment order.

After the seat allotment process, candidates must visit the allotted engineering college to report and submit the relevant educational documents to the completed verification process. Verified candidates need to deposit the first-year B Tech fees within a specified date to confirm admission.
