Ujjain Engineering College

Ujjain Engineering College was established in 1966 by the government of Madhya Pradesh. It was formally known as Govt. Engineering College, Ujjain, was established to improve technical education. In 1998, this college was declared Autonomous by the state government. At the beginning of this college, only three branches were available, i.e., Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. But as industrialization started to grow, UEC Ujjain added new courses like Electronics Engineering (1985) and Chemical Engineering (1986). This college is constantly aspiring to create an environment where students can learn better and effectively. Even though AICTE recognizes this institution, Ujjain Engineering College's NIRF ranking is unavailable since the institution has not applied for participation yet. But, the engineering programs hold accreditation from NBA.

Ujjain Engineering College Courses are available in B Tech (Civil, Mechanical, EEE, ECE, Chemical, and CSE) and M Tech in four streams. In addition, Ujjain College Part-Time courses are B Tech/M Tech in three major specializations: Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical. Ujjain Engineering College course admissions will be made through centralized online counseling conducted by DTE, MP. Ujjain Engineering College B.Tech fee is INR 93k. For studying M Tech, the cost will vary around INR 22k. To participate in counseling, B Tech applicants must clear the JEE Main examination with a good rank equivalent to the Ujjain Engineering College Cut off. M.Tech admission is based on the marks obtained in the GATE entrance test.

Ujjain college is situated on Indore road, which is only 4kms away from the Ujjain Junction railway station and 7 km from the bus depot. Ujjain Engineering College Campus is spread over 300 acres of land. Students can access the on-campus facilities with great infrastructure, including an auditorium, seminar halls, computer centers, wifi services, medical services, labs, and an E-Library. There is also a canteen available with good food options for the students. Many workshops and cultural societies are available here for the students. 

In addition, the Ujjain Engineering College Hostel facility is accessible for girls and Boys. The hostel fees vary based on the occupancy student is getting. The basic hostel fee is approximately Rs. 2,000/- per month, around Rs. 24,000/- per year. Even though fees for various courses are already pretty low compared to other engineering colleges, Scholarships are also available here. Both hostel scholarships and course scholarships are provided. One of the Ujjain Engineering College scholarships is Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidhyarthi Yojana (MMVY). Students applying for this scholarship must have good scores in their 10+2 exams and entrance test.

Ujjain Engineering College alumni have now gone to various parts of the globe like the USA, Australia, Canada, etc. some of these notable alumni are Bhawani Shanker Verma, who is Sub-Divisional Officer in the Rural Engineering Services, and Mayur Jain, who is a Manager at Sanofi, USA, and Anurag Mahajan, who is an Assistant Professor, Jaypee University.

In terms of placement assistance, UCE is best among the list of Top Engineering Colleges of Ujjain. It holds the placement rate of 85-90% year on year. CSE department holds a great placement rate among all the other branches. Companies like TCS and Wipro were top recruiters and provided multiple offers to students during the recent placement campaign. In addition to the final placement, many students got selected as interns in a leading organization with a good stipend.

• The highest package offered to the M.Tech was 6LPA.

• In 2018-19, TCS offered jobs to around 30 students, and around 14 got a job offer from Wipro. These students were from various branches like Chemical, CS, EC, and Mechanical.
