University Law College, Bangalore University, is also known as ULC. Bangalore is one of the most famous law educational institutes established in 1948, situated in Bangalore, Karnataka State. ULC focuses on offering quality education by blending theoretical knowledge and acquiring academic excellence through research and teaching activities. In the year 2025, ULC was ranked 1st among the National Law School of India University, and it was declared by NIRF. To impart experiential training for the students, ULC offers a clinical training program, which provides an opportunity for the students to be accompanied by the legal profession through internships, workshops, seminars, trial court visits, research activities, projects, and standard aid programs.

  • ULC, Bangalore, offers undergraduate degree BALLB courses for the duration of 5 years with a total intake of 80 seats that varies each year. And also regular LLB for the duration of 3 years. It offers a postgraduate degree, LLM (Master of Laws), for a duration of 2 years with annual seats. Further, it offers a doctoral degree Ph.D. program for the duration of three years with the intake of a few seats.
  • Admission to ULC Bangalore for the BALLB course will be provided based on academic merit, followed by counseling. For the LLM course, admissions will be based on the entrance test followed by counseling, which Bangalore University will conduct.
  • ULC application process for all the courses will be conducted via offline mode. Candidates are required to download the application form by visiting the institute's respective website, and the duly-filled application form must be submitted through the post.
  • ULC has an effective campus placement cell that strives to provide ample job opportunities by associating with recruiters and inviting them to campus by conducting a placement drive. Some law firms have visited the campus to recruit the students, namely Dua Associates, L & T Constructions, Equitas Legal, Pragati Law Chambers, Just Law, Spectrum Legal, and many more.
  • University Law College provides state-of-the-art facilities such as a well-stocked library with more than 45,000 volumes and includes 16,000 Journals. There is two spacious seminar halls, BangaUniversityrsity canteen near the campus, Wi-Fi facility, Moot court, Modern computer Lab, Administrative Block, and an eco-friendly campus with a rainwater harvesting system. Besides, ULC offers hostel accommodation for both Male & females with all the necessary amenities.
  • Legal education has become a major part of the present situation. The college aims to make all people know the different legal practices in India.
  • The syllabus is designed as per the law practice in the constitution and helps them know the present problems occurring in society.
  • The curriculum is changed regularly to make the students clear about their field's present requirements.
  • The faculties train the students in such a way that they improve their leadership and employability quality.

Placement-

  • The students are trained to improve their innovative thinking and problem-solving things per their field requirements.
  • The students are provided with internship opportunities during the 5 years of education in the trial courts under advocates.
  • After the completion, the students are placed under lawyers in different level courts and are provided with the right salary package or are helped to start their own law firms independently.
  • The college has moot courts where the students are trained in arguments and solve justice issues.

Infrastructure-

  • A medical facility with doctors, nurses, and an ambulance is present within the campus to provide safety.
  • The cafeteria provides food, snacks, and beverages of different varieties daily to the faculty and students at a lower rate.
  • The library has a huge collection of reference books to help the students know about the old law practices.
  • The auditorium has reasonable accommodations for the students and faculty where conferences, workshops, and seminars are conducted.

The University College of Law offers an LLB program with a general specialization. No other specialization is available. 

Who can get admission to the LLB program at BU-UCL?

University College of Law Bangalore University course admissions are open for BA LLB and LLM programs. The University does not offer LLB courses in their academics. For BA LLB, applicants must have passed in 10+2 board exams in any stream.

Bangalore University offers BA, LLB, and LLM courses under the law stream. BA LLB is an integrated program for 5 years. Students must have passed the 10th and 12th exams. And no entrance exam is needed for admissions.

Bangalore University LLM fee structure is INR 24 K per annum. The total fees are INR 48K.
