IGNOU Agartala, located in the capital city of Tripura, is a regional centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). IGNOU Agartala UG Admission

IGNOU Agartala offers various undergraduate courses under a wide range of specializations. These are courses of 3 years.

The UG courses offered by IGNOU Agartala are:

All these UG courses require the candidates to have passed 10+2/HSC  from any recognized board or BPP from IGNOU. The candidates are selected based on merit in the previous qualifying examination. However, candidates applying to the B.Sc course must have passed 10+2 in science background.

Also, many eligibility conditions exist for aspirants willing to apply for the BLIS course.

Aspirants having a Second class Bachelor's Degree with 50% marks or a Bachelor's Degree with Diploma in Library Science can apply to the course.

Moreover, candidates having a UG with two years of working experience in a Library & Information Centre or a bachelor's degree in a Professional area such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, etc, can apply for this course.

To be eligible for Admission to the IGNOU Agartala B.Ed, The candidates applying must have an A Bachelor or higher degree from a recognized university. The candidates with two years of full-time regular teaching experience on a temporary/permanent basis as Primary/Graduate/Postgraduate Teachers in Primary, Secondary Or Higher Or Senior secondary school recognized by the central or a state government or a union territory are eligible for Admission. Selection is based on the IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam.

IGNOU Agartala Distance MBA Admission

The MBA courses provided by IGNOU are in high demand because of their acceptance in the corporate world. The candidates applying must graduate in any discipline with 50% marks for the General Category. IGNOU Agartala Distance MBA fees is INR 31,000.                                          

The candidates have a Bachelor's degree with three years of supervisory/ managerial/professional experience, or a Professional Degree in Accountancy/ CWA / Company Secretaryship, etc. or in Engineering/ Technology to apply.

The selection of the candidates is based on their performance in the OPENMAT examination. The candidates who appeared in exams like CAT, MAT, and State level tests are exempted from appearing in the OPENMAT examination.

Candidates with a 10+2 with 6 years of managerial/ supervisory experience are eligible for Admission into PG Diploma in Management stream only after clearing the OPENMAT exam.

IGNOU OPENMAT Examination

Students who are applying for MBA programs must take the OPEN MAT exam. It's a computer-based online exam given twice a year, in July and January. To be eligible, students must have graduated from an accepted field of study with a minimum grade point average of 50%. Students applying to the MBA program must complete a three-hour exam including general knowledge, English language skills, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning.

IGNOU MBA Exam Pattern

• Mode: The OPENMAT exam is conducted in a computer-based mode (online).
• Sections: The exam consists of four sections - General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.
• Number of Questions: There are 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with 50 questions in each section.
• Marking Scheme: Each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking.
• Duration: The exam has a total duration of 180 minutes (3 hours).
• Medium: The question paper is available in both English and Hindi languages.

IGNOU Agartala PG Admission

IGNOU Agartala offers various postgraduate courses. These courses are for two years.

All these courses have the basic eligibility criteria of having graduated in any discipline from any recognized university except the M.Ed course, which requires candidates to have a B.Ed or B.EIEd degree. However, certain courses have additional eligibility conditions. For instance, candidates applying to MCA must have had Mathematics as a distinct subject at 10 + 2. Students not fulfilling this criterion must pursue and pass the CS-60 course concurrently. All the PG courses are selected based on merit except the MBA course.

For Admission into the M.Sc course, Graduates from any recognized University/Institution having a Major or Honours in Mathematics with at least fifty per cent marks in aggregate can apply in the same.

Graduates with a BA./BSc degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects with equal weightage, securing at least 50% in aggregate and 55 percent in Mathematics, will be considered for Admission into the M.Sc course, if any vacant seats are left.

For Admission into the MTM course, the candidates must have a BTS./BHM./BA (Tourism); or a Diploma in Tourism. Candidates with a Diploma in Hotel Management (from an institute recognized by the NCHMCT, AICTE, or a Bachelor's Degree in any field) are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates must pass four additional courses during their study period.
