Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) is a Deemed to be University started in 1984 as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering and Kalasalingam University. The University is near Madurai, near an ancient temple in sriviliputhur, Tamil Nadu.

The University offers courses in the stream of Engineering, Arts, Management, Architecture, etc., at Bachelor’s, Masters, and Doctoral level.

The courses offered are B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Arch, B.Sc., BA, BBA, B.Com, B.Voc, BCA, M.Arch, M.Sc., MA, MSW, MCA, MBA, and PhD with specializations.

Admission to most of the courses offered by the University is based on merit in qualifying exams and for:

  • B.Tech is through KUEE or JEE Main score followed by counselling
  • B.Arch is through the NATA exam score
  • M.Tech admission is through the KUEE score.

KARE B.Tech Admissions:

Admission to B.Tech program is based on the marks obtained in KUEEE, JEE Main, or TNEA counselling. The basic eligibility required to apply for the B.Tech course offered in KARE is 10+2 or equivalent from a well-recognized board with PCM/B with at least 50% marks (or) MPC (or) BPC (for Biotechnology or Food Technology) (or) High School Diploma.

The University is also accepting admission to Lateral entry B.Tech for students with Diploma in applicable discipline with at least 60% marks from a well-recognized board, and the students will be selected for admission to Lateral Entry B.Tech based on their performance in the entrance test conducted by the University and qualifying exam.

KARE B.Sc. Admissions:

The student's basic eligibility to apply for the B.Sc. program is 12th or equivalent in the Science stream with relevant subjects from any recognized board. The University for B.Sc. program's selection process is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

KARE B.Com Admissions:

The University offers a B.Com course with three specializations for three years duration for students having basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% marks from a well-known board. Furthermore, the University permits admission to B.Com for students based on merit in the qualifying exam.

KARE B.Voc Admissions:

KARE Other UG Admission:

The University offers other undergraduate courses such as B.Arch, BA, BBA, and BCA for students with basic eligibility of 10+2 or equivalent with relevant subjects from a recognized board. The students will be selected for the B.Arch program based on their performance in the NATA exam. Another course admission will be based on merit in the qualifying exam.

In addition, the students will be provided with admission to the M.Tech course based on the GATE exam's performance or the KUEEE exam.

The M.Sc. program offers four specializations for students with minimum eligibility for a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% marks from any known university. In addition, the University selects students with good performance in the qualifying exam for M.Sc. course admissions.

KARE MBA Admissions:

KARE offers a Business Administration course at the postgraduate level with two specializations. The basic eligibility required to apply is Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks in the relevant stream from a recognized university.

KARE Other PG Admissions:

KARE also offers other PG degrees such as M.Arch in Habitat Design, MA in English, MSW, and MCA to satisfy the basic eligibility criteria per the University’s norms. The selection for all programs offered in the University will be based on performance in the qualifying exam and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

KARE Application Process:

The students must apply through the KARE official Website for the University's desired course. Firstly, the students must register on the website through a mobile number and email ID. Then, the Application form has to be filled with pertinent details and an attached scanned copy of the Photograph and Signature. Finally, the application Fee must be paid through Net Banking, Debit or Credit card or DD.

KARE Application Fee:

  • B.Tech, B.Arch, and PG courses – Online mode INR 600/- and offline mode INR 650/-
  • B.Sc. Agriculture and Horticulture – Online mode INR 600/- and offline mode INR 650/-
  • UG Arts, B.Voc – Online mode INR 300/- and offline mode INR 350/-
  • Foreign and NRI students – Offline mode $50.
