Government Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology, and Applied Nutrition, also known as GIHM, Dehradun, came into existence in 1982 under the Ministry of Tourism & Uttarakhand State Government's sponsorship. The College is situated in Dehradun Uttarakhand state, and it is approved under AICTE and Ministry of HRD, Indian Government. Earlier, the institute offered a three-year Diploma program in Hotel Management until 2006, and from 2007 it started offering Bachelor's degree in hotel management, which is affiliated with Uttarakhand University. This institute has been recognized as one of the best educational institutes in the North India region. The institute's central vision is to impart essential knowledge and skills for the aspired students to grow ahead with successful careers in Hotel Management, Applied Nutrition, and Catering Technology.

• Government Institute of Hotel Management, Dehradun offers Under Graduate Course BHMCT (Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology) for four years with a total intake of 60 students per annum.
• Candidates willing to get admission at the Government Institute of Hotel Management shall have passed the 10+2 examination in any stream from any recognized board to get eligible.
• BHMCT Admissions at GIHM, Dehradun will be granted based on the Joint entrance exam followed by Counselling which Uttarakhand University will organize
