Eligibility Criteria/Cut-off for Admissions 2020

Osmania University is well known institute which was established in the academic year 1918. This university offers full time education at under graduate, post graduate and research. It also offers distance education. The admissions to any courses in this university are based on the common entrance test conducted by university and the application process will begin in April.

The common entrance test conducted is OUCET and to apply for this exam the application fee is INR 700 and applicants can pay through online mode.

UG Admissions:

Osmania University offers courses at under graduation level with various disciplines like Arts, Commerce, Technology, Science, Pharmacy etc. this university offers courses like , BBA, B.Ed, B.Sc., B.Com, LL.B, B.P.Ed etc. Candidates have to appear for entrance exam for each of the courses in order to gain eligibility and possess minimum eligibility mentioned for each courses.

For admissions in UG courses students have to meet the minimum eligibility as mentioned below:

  • For admissions in B.Com candidates need appear for OUCET which is MCQ based exam conducted at university.
  • For admissions in LL.B candidates need to have appeared for TS LAWCET which qualifies the students to take up this course.
  • For admissions in B.Ed candidates need to have appeared for AP EdCET in order to get qualified for this course and for admissions in B.L.I.Sc. University entrance test has to be taken by candidates seeking admissions in this course.
  • For admissions in B.Tech, BE and B.Pharm candidates need to have valid marks in TS-EAMCET and for B.H.M.C.T students have to take up the aptitude test which the university conducts.

Despite of the stream on basis of TS EAMCET Osmania University B.Tech admissions will be granted, these application forms will be available in the month of April then by June or July admissions to B.Tech will be done. Only by filling the application form candidates will be proceeded further and admitted to the college

This university is the best it always provided good education to everyone who is part of the institute. I have completed my B.Tech in this university and it was very necessary for me score a top rank to get seat in this college. I wrote the entrance exam called as EAMCET and according to our marks and the caste we belong they will allot us seat. Osmania University cut-off in the EAMCET is 3000 the maximum rank and below. I took part in the state level counselling online and because of the marks I had got in CET I could get admission in this college.

This is a public institute and candidates seeking direct admissions at University College of Engineering (Osmania University) Hyderabad for B.Tech or other program are not accepted. Candidates only through merit basis shall be able to get seats.


Can i get law course?

Under distance education there are no LLB or Law program available applicants with eligibility shall apply for other offered courses and get admissions at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College.

BE Electronics & Communication Engineering cut-off for B.Tech in general for male category is 1004 and for female it is 830. Students scored in TS EAMCET within this cut-off will be able to take admissions at University College of Engineering (Osmania University) Hyderabad for B.Tech.


I got 93 % in intermediate and holding the rank 15462 in TS EAMCET . can I expect seat in OU campus

The candidate has secured acceptable marks in the qualifying exam that is class 12th exam as well in the entrance exam. Aspirants willing to take B.Tech admission to Osmania University will have to register for entrance based counselling considering the specialisation chosen, entrance exam cut-off marks and other criteria allotment of seat will be done.

University College of Engineering, Hyderabad accepts admission to B.Tech program if one has completed 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum marks required. One must have mandatorily appeared for EAMCET or OUCET (Osmania University entrance test) and secured valid marks. Candidates should participate in the centralized counseling for getting seat in this college.
