Eligibility Criteria for Admission 2026

Eligibility for B.E/B.Tech

• To be eligible for BTech course at VIT Vellore, you have to complete class 12th from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. These subjects are compulsory.
• You should have obtained the minimum aggregate marks of around 60%.
• The admission to VIT Vellore B.Tech courses is via the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE). A valid JEE Main score is also considered. You will be evaluated on physics, chemistry, maths, and aptitude.
• To complete the application process, you need to register for VITEEE.
• After the exam results are announced, you will be invited for the VIT Vellore counselling process. The seats will be allotted based on the availability of seats and the specialisation chosen.

Eligibility for M.Tech

• To be eligible for the MTech program, you need to complete a BTech degree from a recognised university. Final students are also eligible to apply.
• Minimum marks of around 60% are required for your UG degree.
• Admission to Vellore Institute of Technology is conducted through the VITMEE. Although a valid GATE score is accepted, it may improve your admission chances.
