PESSAT - PES University Aptitude Test

PES Statistical Aptitude Test which is conducted by the PES University is situated in Bangalore, which was established in the year 1972. PESSAT is the Entrance exam conducted to provide admission in various Under Graduate and Post Graduate course such as Management, Medicine, Engineering and Life Sciences.

PES University also provides specialization in all the courses as well as, it also conducts PhDs. Earlier PES is an institute, but in the year 2013 it was converted into University. The quality of education and the dedication of the faculties’ results that today PES University has 18000 plus dedicated students and over 40 courses are conducting.

PES University has four campuses situated in Bangalore and Andhra Pradesh. The sore of the of this aptitude test will be valid for all the courses provided by the University.

PESSAT Eligibility criteria

Eligibility Criteria refers to the requirements which a candidate should meet in order to be eligible to take PESSAT:-

•    Candidates who want to appear in this exam must be an Indian citizen.
•    The general category applicants must have got a minimum of 60% in their 12th
•    The reserve category applicants should have got 50% in 12th.
•    For B Tech courses, the applicants should have at least 60% in physics, chemistry and maths in 12th.
•    For all other courses eligibility criteria are different as per the University norms.
•    Candidates who are appearing in 12th can also give the exam.
•    Age range for this exam is between 17 to 25 years.

PESSAT Application Form & fees

  • Application Form is provided through online mode from the official link.
  • The application form is available from the 21st September. For B. Tech courses, the registration will be closed on 10th April.
  • The last date for the registration of other courses will be July.
  • The exam fee is Rs.1050 for all candidates.

PESSAT Syllabus & Exam Pattern

  • Entrance Test will be conducted through online mode.
  • The B. Tech Exam will be held in the month of May.
  • All other courses entrance exam will begin from the 7th January to July. The exam pattern of B.Tech & MBA programme is given below.

For B. Tech Course:

  • Duration of Exam: The time duration is 2 ½ hours.
  • Number of Questions: The question paper will contain 180 questions.
  • Subjects: The question paper will comprise of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics & English Grammar. 60 questions will be asked from the Physics and Mathematics, 40 from Chemistry and 20 from English Grammar.
  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in the examination.
  • Syllabus: The syllabus of PESSAT will consist of class 11th and 12th level

PESSAT Admit Card

In the procedure of slot booking, candidates can reserve their test date and time. Once after the registration is closed, the slot booking process will be started from 21st April for B. Tech Courses. The procedure will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis. After the slot booking, candidates can take the printout of the PESSAT Admit Card. If the candidate reserves the test date and time there will be no changes will be permitted.

PESSAT Results & Score Card

Results will be declared on the last week of May for B. Tech Course. The Result will be announced in the official site of PES University. Candidate can get their result by entering their roll number and Date of Birth. After the result announcement, merit list will be published. On the bases of the merit list candidates will be called for the counselling process.

PESSAT Counselling & Admission

PESSAT Counselling will be held in two rounds:-

  • PESSAT First Round Counselling for B. Tech programme will be beginning in the month of June PESSAT
  • Second Round Counselling will be started in the month of July.
  • The counselling fee is Rs.5000. Candidate Parents/guardian will also represent the candidate at the time of counselling.

Candidates must be very careful while selecting the exam centres as the centres chosen by them must be very near to the city where they are living. Centre once selected by a candidate or allotted by PES University (examination authority) cannot be changed later.

I want to know the complete structure of PESSAT Exam Pattern for Btech program?

Details on PESSAT Exam Pattern:

  • PESSAT exam will be scheduled Online i.e. Computer Based Test.
  • PESSAT exam will have 4 sections such as: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. 
  • For PESSAT exam pattern, The Total Number of questions is 180.
  • The duration of PESSAT exam is 3 Hours. 
  • There is no negative marking system for PESSAT exam.

For Btech program, I want to know the PESSAT Eligibility Criteria Details?

Details on PESSAT Eligibility Criteria for Btech program: 

  • Qualification criteria: PESSAT Aspirants should be qualified in their 10th, 12th exam from a recognized University in order to fulfill PESSAT Eligibility Criteria.
  • Percentage criteria: 60% marks aggregate.
  • The candidates should have a valid PESSAT score or KCET scores for the PESSAT Btech admissions.

  • PESSAT Aspirants are required to visit the official website and register themselves by filling the complete details.

  • After the PESSAT Application Process is completed, Aspirants need to keep the copy of filled PESSAT Application form for the future use.

  • The candidates need to visit the official website in order to check the PESSAT Result.
  • Then they must visit the PESSAT Result page via online mode. 
  • Aspirants need to enter their Registration number and DOB.

  • Then PESSAT Result will be displayed on the screen.
