Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a state level management entrance examination conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) especially to get admissions for MBA, PGDMA and MCA programs. The admission possibilities for candidates taking up KMAT are for post graduate management courses.  KMAT is an all India exam that will be conducted in more than 10+ cities in Bangalore and in other Karnataka state institutions which are located across the country.

KMAT is a Common Entrance Exam conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) for around 169+ AICTE-approved University-affiliated B-school Institutes in Bangalore and other places of Karnataka. This is applicable to all candidates from all parts of India who meets the eligibility criteria can appear for this test across the country. The accessible process for KMAT is easy and affordable with sharing of exam scores with selected B-schools of your choice/scores.

The KMAT 2021 exam will be conducted in offline mode for PG Programs which is usually conducted in the month of July. Later once the results are out the concerned authority will help in getting into the desired B-school in Karnataka.

KMAT 2021 Eligibility criteria

Entry requirements into professional courses like MBA/ PGDM/MCA in Karnataka are followed as per the UGC guidelines.

MBA/PGDM
Bachelors degree with minimum 3 years duration/ Masters degree examination of any recognised education body in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or equivalent, and have secured at least 50% of marks in the aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidate). Candidates in their final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible.

MCA
Bachelor's degree with 50% marks. Candidates should have studied Maths at 10+2 stage or at graduation level.

Tentatively the KMAT 2021 Application Form will be made live and accessible in the last week of May 2021 as said by the authority and the last due date for the submission of application form with fee will be in the second week of July 2021.   • The application form will be released from last week of May 2021 and candidates should make sure that they are registered on time for taking up the entrance test
  • For KMAT 2021 the last date tentatively announced for application submission with fine is till second week of July 2021.
  • Once the registration is done the candidate will receive an individual ID and password that he/she can change it later according to their wish. This detail should be managed carefully and used further while filling the application and later receiving its confirmation.
  • Once the details are filled then the candidate must upload scanned image of photograph & signature in the prescribed digital format. The applicant should be careful about the size of the file because many a times the website won’t accept huge sized files.
  • It is mandatory that the applicant has to provide valid/ working email ID & contact details in the application form, if not the application will not accepted
  • There is no need for the candidate to send any hard copy of the application form for further use, but it is suggested to have a soft copy for future reference.
  • Lastly, the applicant has to pay application fees and that can be done online itself via credit card, debit card or net banking. The application fees will be INR  800/- for all categories of applicants
  • Later, the preview and changes if any to make can be done and once candidate’s clicks on ‘Confirm and Final Submit’ button there won’t be any chances to make any changes.

KMAT 2021 Eligibility criteria

Candidates preparing to appear for KMAT 2021 should be well-aware about the authorities having made some important considerations in their eligibility criteria. Understanding the prescribed criteria will help the aspiring candidates to know if they are well qualified or have the capacity to appear for the exam before filling the online application form. Here the candidates should realize that once the committee decides that the aspirant doesn’t fit to the criteria then the application may be considered as disqualified at any stage of admissions. 

Eligibility criteria for MBA/ PGDMA Course:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must be qualified for having bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 year duration/ Master’s degree from any recognized board or Institution.

Compulsory subject: Aspiring candidates willing to pursuing mandatory management degree with Business administration, engineering, commerce, social science or arts with qualifying marks.

Allowed Percentage: should have qualified with minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved category) aggregate in any of the qualifying entrance examination.

Appearing: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination will be considered as eligible to take up the examination.

Eligibility criteria for MCA Course:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a qualifying Bachelor’s degree in a relevant stream from any recognized university of the state to be eligible for the examination.

Applicable Percentage: one must score a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in all the subjects in order to get qualified for the examination.

Compulsory inclusive subject: Applicants must have Mathematics as their compulsory subject to be qualified for entrance test.

KMAT 2021 Syllabus & Exam Pattern

Before appearing for KMAT 2021 entrance exam candidates must be aware of the Exam Pattern. This might help the candidates to know about the details like what is the mode of examination, marking criteria, section, if there is any negative marking, type of questions, total number of questions and sections, duration of exam etc. This will help the candidate to have better preparations for the exam.

KMAT 2021 is a 2-hour offline for UG course and online based exam for Ph.D. courses where candidates will have toattend 120 questions carrying 100 marks. A new type of question pattern has been added in KMAT 2021 i.e. Multiple Select Question, MSQ. And there are no negative marking for this exam.

KMAT 2021 Syllabus

Syllabus of KMAT Karnataka 2021 containsmultiple topics rangingfrom subjects like Mathematics, English, and Logical Reasoning. The section wise syllabus for KMAT 2021will be as:

Section 1: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

Some of the important topics in this section include Sentence completion, comprehension of passages, antonyms, synonyms, and etc. Questions will be asked based on the understanding of the content, passages & choice of appropriate words. Here the English language fluency ability will be tested through grammar, vocabulary,and other similar language skills.

Section 2: Logical & Abstract Reasoning

Questions will be asked from logical reasoning, analogy and so on.

Section 3: Quantitative Ability

The final section includes topics which evaluate the candidate’s speed & accuracy such as checking numerical calculations, interest, time, percentage, speed, and etc. Some of the topics might include arithmetic’s, ratio and proportion. These questions will be selected from subjects like Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and other various sub-parts of Mathematics.

KMAT 2021 Admit Card

The KMAT 2021 Admit card/ hall ticket is inclusive of all exam related details and candidate-specific details like –name of the student, exam date, exam timings, registration number of the student, exam center details and all the important instructions about the entrance exam. While downloading the KMAT 2021 hall ticket, candidates must verify all the details printed on it.

KMAT 2021 Admit Card Instructions     

KMAT 2021 Admit Card will be released via online mode which will happen on the second week of April 2021. Candidates will be able to download hall ticket by entering their registration ID & date of Birth

Admit card is included with all the details like place of exam centers, date & time, address, exam calendar & some important exam instructions. It is also a mandatory thing for all applied candidates to carry their admit card at the examination center, if not the applicant will not be allowed to sit for the examination without the hall ticket & any one considerable ID proof.

KMAT 2021 Results & Score Card

KMAT Result will be made available via online mode and will get released in the month of August 2021. This score card or merit list will be prepared by the KPPGCA on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in the entrance exam.

To check the result, the applicant will have to use their user ID & password from the registration. The institutes will prepare their merit list for PG management courses. Applicants who are qualified for the examination will be able to appear in the private University counseling rounds.

KMAT Karnataka 2021 answer kit will be reveled in the final week of July 2021 so that the students can cross-check their answer even before the release of results. With this the candidate can make a fair estimation of their marks. Answer key will include answers of each question that is asked in the entrance test.

KMAT 2021 Counselling & Admission

Counseling process for KMAT 2021 is carried out once after the results have been declared, the candidates shall apply for counseling and for that the candidates will have to pay certain registration fee.

KMAT 2021 Counseling will be organized by the authority via online mode. It is mandatory for all qualified candidates to be a part in the counseling process. Seats allotment for the candidates is done on the basis of counseling process conducted by the committee.

What are the eligibility criteria of KMAT?

Details on KMAT Exam pattern:

  • KMAT exam will be held in offline mode i.e. Pen and Paper based Test.  
  • KMAT exam will have 3 sections such as: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability and Logical Reasoning.
  • In KMAT Exam pattern, The Total Number of questions is 120 (MCQs) consisting of 480 marks. Each section comprises of 160 marks (40 Qs each section). 
  • The duration of the KMAT exam is 2 Hours.
  • In KMAT Exam pattern, for every right answer 4 marks will be provided.
  • Negative marking is applicable as 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
