Qualification Criteria for JEE Advanced in 2022

Candidates must rank in the top 2,50,000 on the Common Rank List to meet the NTA's requirements to take the JEE Advanced 2022 exam. Only the top 2,50,000 students—from both reserved and unreserved categories—will be eligible to take the JEE Advanced 2022 exam. The JEE Main 2022 cut-off score will compile the list of top candidates.

Factors Affecting the Admission and Qualifying Cut-off for JEE Main Cut-off 2022

  • The JEE Main Cut-off is affected by several variables. Previously (2013–2016), the JEE Main Cut-off was also influenced by the marks attained in Class 12th board exams. Board exams for Class 12th were given a weight of 40% for determining JEE Main rank.
  • The weighting of the Class 12 board exam is no longer considered while establishing the JEE Main Cut-off. However, the following additional factors will impact the 2022 JEE Main Cut-off:
    • Number of students who appeared for JEE Main 2022
    • Available seats at participating colleges.
    • JEE Main exam's level of difficulty.
    • JEE Main cut-off trends from the previous year.

Should candidates take the JEE Main Exam 2022 for Session 2?

According to coaching and admissions experts, students with scores over the 95th percentile have a good chance of getting admission to NITs and IIITs in various branches. Thus, they can bypass the session 2 exam and concentrate on JEE Advanced 2022.

However, candidates who did not meet the 95th percentile can retake the exam in session 2 to raise their score, increase their likelihood of being accepted into a selective college, and qualify for JEE Advanced 2022.
