JEE Main 2026 exam dates, application and other details

NTA has announced the exam schedule of JEE Main 2026 for both sessions. It will be held in the months of January and April.  However, the applications are yet to be opened. Soon, NTA will announce the application release date. Candidates can easily apply using the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Session 1 JEE Main 2026 will run from January 21 to 30, 2026. Second session will be held from April 1 to April 10, 2026. Once applications are available, eligible candidates should follow the steps below to apply.

JEE Main is a national-level exam conducted to provide B-Tech. and allied course admissions across the IITs, NITs, IIITs, and all other centrally funded technological institutes in India.

JEE Main 2026 application process:

JEE Main 2026 application form is expected to be out in November; the exact is yet to be announced by NTA.

  • Candidates who have completed their 10+2 board exams in science with min of 50% marks or its equivalent. There is no upper age limit to appear for this exam.
  • Candidates can find the online application by visiting the official website at jeemai.nta.nic.in.
  • Fill in all the personal and education details in the required format.
  • Attach the digital documents such Aadhar card, educational certificates, and signature in the accepted size and format.
  • Recheck all the details given and make the necessary changes before proceeding to the next step.
  • The page will then redirect the candidates to pay the form fees. The payment has to be made online i.e, through net banking or UPI.
  • JEE Main 2026 application fees is INR 1000 for males and INR 800 for females in general category. For EWS and OBC-NCL, it is INR 900 for males and INR 800 for females. Lastly, for SC/ ST/ PWD and transgender it is INR 500 for all.
  • After the payment is done keep a copy of the payment receipt and then make the submission.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card Download:

As the session of JEE Main 2026 is schedule from January 21 to 30, the admit card might release in the second week of January or prior. Only the applicants who have applied for the exam can download the admit card from the official website. A few steps to follow while downloading the JEE Main 2026 admit card are:

  • Use the application number to get the right admit card from the official website.
  • Once the card displays on the screen and check all the details printed on it.
  • If there are any errors, please report it immediately to get it updated at the earliest.
  • If there are no changes, then click on the download button and take both the e-copy and hard copy of the admit card.
  • It is essential to present the admit card while taking up the exam, without which candidates are not allowed into the exam centre.
