BITSAT 2024 session 1 Exam Date Revised

The BITSAT 2024 exam dates for session 1 have been changed because they were overlapping with the Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE Advanced 2024) exam. Now, the BITSAT session 1 exam in 2024 will take place from May 19 to 24.

The registration for session 1 examinations for BE, BPharm, and MSc programs is currently open. The last date to apply for BITSAT 2024 (Session 1) is April 11. Interested and qualified individuals must submit their BITSAT 2024 application form by the deadline.

Originally, BITSAT session 1 exams were planned from May 21 to 26, with the last exam coinciding with the JEE Advanced exam date in 2024. Due to student concerns, BITS Pilani, the conducting Institute, has moved the exam dates from May 19 to 24.

However, there are no changes to the BITSAT session 2 exam dates. It is set to take place from June 22 to 26, following the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process, tentatively starting on June 10.

The BITSAT is an entrance test administered by the BITS, Pilani, for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (BE) at its three campuses in Pilani, Goa & Hyderabad. Candidates who pass the entrance test are offered admission to BE, BPharm, and MSc programs on a yearly basis. The admission test is administered online, and over 3 lakh students apply for it each year.

BITSAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

Before starting the registration procedure, applicants should review the official BITSAT 2024 qualifying requirements. If the candidates do not match the qualifying requirements, they will be excluded from the admission process.

For admission to B Tech

  • Candidates must have passed a 12th-grade test in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Central or State board or equivalent. Candidates must be proficient in English.
  • Should have received a least 75% overall in PCM, with at least 60% in each of the three disciplines.

For admission into BPharm (Hons):

  • Should have passed the 12th grade test from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must be proficient in English.
  • Candidates who have completed PCMB in Class 12 can, nevertheless, enroll in the Pharmacy program at BITS campuses.
  • Candidates must have received a minimum aggregate of 75% marks in PCB (and Maths if they are PCMC/E students), with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (and Maths if they are PCMC/E students) disciplines.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

  • Only students who are taking their 12th-grade test in 2024 or who graduated in 2021 are eligible to take the BITSAT 2024. Students who took their Class 12 test in 2020 or earlier are not eligible to take the BITSAT 2024.
  • Suppose a candidate has attempted the 12th standard or its equivalent more than once. In that case, only their most recent performance will be evaluated, as long as this attempt includes the entire component of subjects/courses recommended.
  • Admission decisions will be based solely on merit. Their score on the BITSAT 2024 will determine the candidate's merit rank for admission. However, their entrance is contingent on earning the minimum marks required in the Class 12 board exam, as previously stated.
