GITAM GAT Eligibility criteria

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
  • B. Tech. in Biotechnology: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
  • B. Pharmacy: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects.
  • B. Arch: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying Examination  with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry subjects and also shall qualify in NATA / JEE (Main)
  • First Rank Holders of the central and all state board exams in 2019 will be eligible for direct admissions to the university. 

GITAM GAT Application Form & fees

The application forms are available in online and offline modes:-

  • Offline mode: - Candidates can purchase the Application Form from  selected branches of Union Bank of India, Indian Bank and Karur Vyasya Bank. Applications can also be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address accompanied by DD for Rs.150/- drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank.  Request for application by post will be accepted up to last week of  March.
  • Online mode: - The link will be active tentatively from November  onwards, the filled - in application form along with Demand Draft for Rs.1,000/- (Rs.600/- for female candidates),  must be drawn in favour of GITAM UNIVERSITY,  payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank, should reach Director - Admissions, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam - 530 045, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA on or before 1st week  April, 2019 .

GITAM GAT Syllabus & Exam Pattern

  • The duration of the test is 2 hours. All questions are objective type (multiple choice questions).
  • Each question has four options out of which one is correct.
  • Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer.
  • The unanswered questions will receive nil marks.

GITAM GAT Admit Card

  • E-hall ticket will be released immediately after the slot booking. It will contain the name, roll number, exam date, exam venue, exam timing and few general details.
  • The admit card is an absolute necessity to enter the exam hall. Candidates, who will fail to show it at the exam centre, will not be allowed to take the exam. The slot booking window will be opened online, on the official website. Through it, the candidates will be able to choose a centre, test date, and slot. Hall tickets will not be sent by post or courier.
  • The aspirants must have to produce any of the following for personal identification:- Voter card, PAN card ,Driving license , Passport , Aadhar card

GITAM GAT Results & Score Card

Candidates have to check from the official website, by submitting the hall ticket number and date of birth. The result will showcase the merit of the candidates. The basis for the merit will be the score of GAT. Cut-off of the examination will the minimum marks required to qualify the examination. As per the criteria of the examination, 25% seats in the institutes will be reserved for meritorious students belong to the state of Karnataka.

GITAM GAT Counselling & Admission

Candidates securing minimum required rank will be called for counselling which will be published, so that the candidates can download their call letter from university website and will be required to pay a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs.1000.
Physically Handicapped candidates are required to attend for the counselling at VISAKHAPATNAM Centre only.

Candidates have to carry important documents in original along with two attested Xerox copies for GITAM GAT Counselling.

The following are the important documents required for GITAM GAT Counselling:

  • Class X passing certificate
  • Class XII or Intermediate marks sheet and passing certificate
  • GITAM GAT Counselling call-letter
  • Transfer, Study and Conduct Certificates
  • For SC/ST Candidates: Integrated Community Certificate, if applicable
  • For PH candidates: Medical Certificate from not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon
  • Bangalore Campus: Residence Certificate from competent authority (for a minimum period of 5 years) for claiming local category

List of GITAM GAT examination centres

The University will conduct the Online Admission Test at the following 44 test centres, depending upon the number of applications received against each test centre. The candidate has to produce any one of the following for personal identification: Passport / Driving licence / EC voter ID card / IT PAN card / Aadhar Card / School or College photo bearing ID card. Each candidate will be given a seat with a computer.

I want to know about Btech program Eligibility criteria?

Eligibility Criteria for Btech program details:

  • Qualification criteria: Aspirants should be qualified in their 10th, 12th exam (Intermediate) from a recognized Board in order to fulfill Eligibility Criteria.
  • Compulsory subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are mandatory subjects.  
  • Percentage criteria: 60% marks aggregate.

Application form has to be filled via online mode.

  • Application form will be made available in the official website. 
  • Aspirants need to fill the complete details mentioned in the Application form.
  • The aspirants need to upload the scanned images of photo in the prescribed format.
  • Then they have to make the required payment. 


what is the procedure of checking Result? 

Process to check Result:

  • Aspirants are required to visit the official website in order to download the Result.
  • Aspirants need to enter their respective registration number and Date of Birth in the Result page.
  • Then they should click on the enter button. 
  • Then Result will be shown on the screen.

I am applying for exam, How much will be Application form Fee?

Details on Application Form Fee:

  • After filling up the Application Form, they need to pay the Application form fee.
  • Application Form fee costs Rs 1000.For Female candidates, it is Rs 600.
  • The payment Application Form has to be done via online mode i.e. Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking or offline mode (DD).

I wanted to know the marking scheme in Exam Pattern?

Exam pattern details:

  • Exam will be held in online mode i.e. Computer based Test. 
  • Exam will have 3 sections those are: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
  • In Exam pattern, The Total Number of questions is 100 (MCQs) consisting of 400 marks. 
  • The duration of the exam is 2 Hours.
  • In Exam pattern, for every right answer 4 marks will be given.
  • Exam has negative marking system, where 1 mark will be deducted.
