Manipal Institute of Technology came into existence in 1957 as India's first self-financing engineering college. This institute is shortly known as MIT, located at Manipal, Karnataka. In 2000, MIT became the constituent unit of the prestigious university Manipal Academy of Higher Education, commonly known as MAHE or Manipal University. MIT Manipal Karnataka offers 18 UG and 26 PG courses in diverse engineering disciplines. It also allows students to carry out full-time and part-time research activities. MIT Manipal Courses are offered in B Tech at the UG level, M Tech, and MCA at the PG level. NBA accredits all the MIT Manipal Engineering Courses. The Full-Time B Tech program is available in various disciplines. B Tech CSE is the flagship program of this College. MIT has collaborated proactively with reputed industries for internships, placements, guest lectures, live projects, and leadership. At Manipal Institute, there are a provision for B Tech and M Tech candidates to pursue their studies ( 1 sem/ 1 year) at any of the associated foreign universities.
