HKBK College of Engineering Admission Process:

Step 1: Check eligibility criteria:

Pass in 10th and 12th board exams in the science stream with mandatory subjects like PCM. They must have secured min of 50% marks as aggregate scores. However, 5% relaxation is given for reserved candidates for UG programs. For PG program, students must have completed graduation degree in relevant stream.

Step 2: Appear for the entrance exam:  

The main entrance exams accepted in this college are KCET at the state level and JEE Main at the national level. Students must register to the desired entrance exam and take up the exam as per the schedule.

Step 3: Register of the Counselling process:

The eligible students from the entrance exam must register for the concerned counselling process if they’re looking for government quota seats. Register for KEA for domicile students, and students from other states can register for COMED K counselling if they’re looking for admissions in private engineering colleges of Karnataka.

Step 4: Choice filling and Seat allocation:

It is important for the students to enter HKBK College of Engineering in the choice filling step as their preferred choice of college to pursue an engineering course. Further, the seat allocation will happen based on exam rank, seat availability, preference and reservation norms as specified by the authorities.

Step 5: Document Verification:

  • KCET 2026 is expected to be held on April 9 and 10, 2026.
  • After the exams, the results will be out in May 2026. Based on the results, they can register for the counselling process through the KEA authority.
  • Based on the counselling results, seats will be allotted.

B-Tech admissions through COMED K 2026

  • B-Tech admissions in COMED K 2026 are primarily based on academic merit basis followed by exam scores.
  • Eligible candidates must then apply for the counselling process, followed with seat location process in multiple rounds.
  • As per the seat matrix of the college, 30% seats are given through COMED K results.

B-Tech admissions through management quota

  • HKBK College of Engineering offers 25% of B-Tech seats through management or direct quota seats.

  • Educational Qualification: Pass in 10+2 board exams in the science stream with compulsory subjects of PCM.
  • Age Criteria: Must be min of 17 years.
  • Selection criteria: Based on academic merit, followed by KCET 2026 scores.

Eligibility for MBA

  • Educational Qualification: Students must have completed their graduation degree of 3 years in a relevant stream with min of 50% marks and no backlogs.
  • Age Criteria: Applicants must have min of 21 years
  • Selection criteria: Appear for management entrance exams like CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/KMAT, etc.

Eligibility for Ph.D.

For Ph.D. admissions in HKBK College of Engineering, students must have completed their master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks.

I joined this college through the kcet quota for which I had to first write the kcet entrance exam. Later on they conduct the counselling process in which according to the kcet rank we have they allot us college. Through my KCET ranking in the counselling I got seat and that’s how the HKBK college of engineering was granted to me.
