Overview Indian Law Institute

Indian Law Institute, New Delhi is one of the prestigious law institute which is familiar for it’s significant work in the domain of legal education, research and training. It was established in the year 1956 with the main objective to promote the systemization of Law, Science of Law, to enhance legal education and to impart directives in law. The law institute is situated in Delhi in the front of supreme court. ILI was inaugurated by Dr Rajendra Prasad who was the first president of India. ILI is an autonomous body which is registered under Societies Registration Act. In the year 2004, ILI has been declared as Deemed University and also it as n NAAC ‘A’ grade accredited institute. In the year 2019, As per the NIRF 2019 Rankings Indian Law institute placed in 13th Position in law category.

  • Indian Law Institute offers Post Graduate Degree LLM (Master’s of Law) for the duration of 1 year and Post Graduate Diploma Programs in 4 disciplines namely Alternative Dispute Resolution, Corporate Laws & Management, Cyber Law and Intellectual Property Rights Laws. It also offers Research Program Ph.D. in Law. Apart from these, online certification programs are offered at ILI
  • Indian Law Institute admissions to the LLM Course will be granted based on the candidates score acquired in ILI Common admission test. For admission to the PG Diploma program will be based on the academic merit score in last qualified examination
  • Admission to the Ph.D. Program at ILI will be provided based on the written test, candidates who clear the written test must appear for personal interview session for further selection process. Candidates can apply the application form via online mode by paying the application fees INR 3000 for LLM & PG Diploma Courses and INR 2,500 for Ph.D.
  • Indian Law Institute Scholarship facility is provided for the deserving students. There are two types of scholarship namely, Merit Scholarship of INR 30,000 will be offered for the candidates who secure good score in ILI admission test, it offers Merit-cum-means-scholarship for the meritorious candidates but financially weaker and even ILI facilitates gold medal for deserving candidates

The Admission Procedure for the courses in Indian Law Institute is:

The Eligibility Criteria is:

  • The Minimum qualification for admission to the PG Diploma program is a Graduate Degree from a recognized University
  • And the 5% weightage will be given to the Law Graduates for admission to all Postgraduate diploma programs.

And the Admission Process is:

  • The aspirants will be given admission based on the marks obtained in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the University examinations.

*Based on this process the admission is done.
