Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, is a prestigious law institute familiar for its significance to work in legal education, research, and training. It was established in the year 1956 with the primary objective to promote the systemization of Law, Science of Law, to enhance legal education, and to impart directives in law. The law institute is situated in Delhi in the supreme court. ILI was inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first president of India. ILI is an autonomous body that is registered under Societies Registration Act. In2004, ILI has been declared as Deemed University and as n NAAC ‘A’ grade accredited institute. In the year 2019, As per the NIRF 2019 Rankings, Indian Law institute was placed in the 13th Position in the law category.

  • Indian Law Institute offers Post Graduate Degree LLM (Master’s of Law) for 1 year and Post Graduate Diploma Programs in 4 disciplines, namely Alternative Dispute Resolution, Corporate Laws & Management, Cyber Law, and Intellectual Property Rights Laws. It also offers Research Program Ph.D. in Law. Apart from these, online certification programs are offered at ILI.
  • Indian Law Institute admissions to the LLM Course will be granted based on the candidate's score acquired in ILI Common admission test. The academic merit score will be based on the last qualifying examination for access to the PG Diploma program.
  • Admission to the Ph.D. Program at ILI will be provided based on the written test. Candidates who clear the written examination must appear for a personal interview session for the further selection process. Candidates can apply for the application form via online mode by paying the application fees INR 3000 for LLM & PG Diploma Courses and INR 2,500 for Ph.D.
  • Indian Law Institute Scholarship facility is provided for deserving students. There are two types of scholarship. Namely, a Merit Scholarship of INR 30,000 will be offered for the candidates who secure a good score in the ILI admission test. It offers Merit-cum-means-scholarship for the deserving candidates but financially weaker, and even ILI facilitates gold medals for excellent candidates.

It contains a massive collection of books, Journals, Commentaries and Periodicals and also institute has a Legal Information Centre which is well-equipped with the latest computer system, broadband internet connectivity,

The Indian Law Institute fees for LLM are INR 1.5 lakhs for the entire program or INR 75000 per annum.

Students looking for LLM admissions must have completed their LLB degree followed by IPU CET or ILICET and secure valid scores.

There is no BA LLB program offered at IIL. The institute offers LLM and PG Diploma programs as a part of its curriculum.
