Government Engineering College Kozhikode is an ISO-certified institution established by the Government of Kerala in 1999. Currently, it is being administrated under DTE, Kerala. The campus is located in Westhill Kozhikode of the Malabar Region. GEC Kozhikode is allied with the University of Calicut and APJ AKTU. GECK offers admission to the B Tech in 5 disciplines and M Tech in three disciplines. However, students must first meet the requirements to enroll in GEC Kozhikode courses. B Tech program is available in Civil, MECH, Chemical, ECE, and Applied Electronics & Instrumentation. Under M Tech Program, Signal Processing, Computer aided processes, and Energy systems are available. Government Engineering College Kozhikode Fees for B Tech is 13k per annum. In contrast, the fee for two years at M Tech is 32k.

Students are chosen based on merit for the B.Tech program. The KEAM score and the 10+2 level scores in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry are used to determine the merit score. Students that are chosen are required to attend counseling. In addition, candidates applying for M Tech must qualify for GATE Entrance Test. However, it is the mandatory criterion to satisfy the GEC Kozhikode Cut off.

GEC Kozhikode scholarships are available to deserving applicants. In addition, PTA Merit-Means Scholarship, PTA Cash Prize, and other scholarships are available. Students must fulfill the requirements to be eligible for the scholarship. Students receive either the scholarship amount or a cash prize after proving their eligibility.

• PTA Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: This scholarship is given to students with vital academic records but low financial standing. This program offers scholarships worth Rs. 1500 each semester.
• PTA Cash Prize: Class winners are eligible for this scholarship. Under this program, cash prizes are given out.

An organization called the Career Guidance and Placement Cell (CGPC) at the GECK assists students in offering ample job opportunities. Professors and student representatives oversee the GEC Kozhikode placement cell. Besides offering career advice, the CGPC also helps students prepare for competitive exams like the GATE, CAT, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, and others. These include career options in India and overseas, opportunities for higher education, and self-employment.

Some training programs include personality development training, aptitude testing, group discussions, mock interviews, employability skills training, professional skills training, soft skills training, industrial visits, seminars, etc. In addition, the cell maintains contact with businesses and sectors to keep students informed of recent industry changes. Out of 238 qualified candidates, 70 were placed in 2020. GEC Kozhikode Average Package offered INR 3 LPA.
