Amrita School of Biotechnology

The institute was started in 2004, with highly qualified faculties who are Ph.D. holders. They are mainly recruited from the colleges and industrial institutions around the globe, staffs are well prepared to give opportunities to the aspirants by their experience and to build their successful career in exciting biotechnology fields.

B.Sc. in Biotechnology/Microbiology:

• Admission process: A student has to qualify their HSC or any equalivent board followed by counseling in the institute.
• Eligibility: Cleared 10+2 examination or equivalent exam with minimum 60% aggregate marks in PCB/Biotechnology subjects taken together. Duration of the course is 3 years with 6 semesters.

M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Bioinformatics:

• Admission process: An aspirant should be graduated and evaluated at the institute which is followed by Personal interview in the college.
• Eligibility: Graduation in relevant domain of Medicine, B.E in Biotechnology, Biological sciences or any equivalent with main subject as Biology taken together.

Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Computational Neuroscience

• Institute offers full time and part time Ph.D. course.
• Eligibility for Full time course: Aspirant should have Master’s degree in any relevant domain of Biological Sciences with the minimum aggregate of 60% marks. Students who are from/ cleared JRF UGC/CSIR or GATE can apply directly and write written test and attain interview. Admission happens in the month of June last week every year.
• Eligibility for Part time course: Candidates should give their interview and attain written test. It will be based on the merit of the qualifying exam.

Placement cell has got excellent record in placing maximum number of candidates, with the average package of INR 4.0LPA and highest package of INR 18LPA.

•  Internships are available to learn the topics practically.
•  ISRO provides internships to the students with the stipend. Institute is partnered with 150+ international companies.

Hostels facilities are provided separately for girls and boys, with delicious food, hygienic mess and with all basic facilities to the students.

• Institute provides virtual labs for Biotechnology which is collaborated with IIT Delhi & Mumbai at national level.
