Amrita School of Biotechnology

The institute was started in 2004, with highly qualified faculties who are Ph.D. holders. They are mainly recruited from colleges and industrial institutions worldwide; staff is well prepared to give opportunities to the aspirants by their experience and build their successful career in exciting biotechnology fields.

• The institute is approved by Technology Development Board (TIFAC), Govt. of India, as a CORE in Biomedical technology.

B.Sc. in Biotechnology/Microbiology:

• Admission process: A student has to qualify for their HSC or any equalized board followed by counseling in the institute.
• Eligibility: Cleared 10+2 examination or equivalent exam with minimum 60% aggregate marks in PCB/Biotechnology subjects taken together. The duration of the course is three years with six semesters.

M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Bioinformatics:

• Admission process: An aspirant should be graduated and evaluated at the institute, followed by a Personal interview in the college.
• Eligibility: Graduation in relevant domain of Medicine, B.E in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences or any equivalent with the main subject as Biology taken together.

Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Computational Neuroscience

• Institute offers full-time and part-time Ph.D. courses.
• Eligibility for Full-time course: Aspirant should have a Master’s degree in any relevant domain of Biological Sciences with the minimum aggregate of 60% marks. Students from/ cleared JRF UGC/CSIR or GATE can apply directly, write written tests, and attain interviews. Admission happens in June, last week every year.
• Eligibility for Part-time course: Candidates should give their interview and attain written test. It will be based on the merit of the qualifying exam.

The placement cell has got an excellent record in placing a maximum number of candidates, with an average package of INR 4.0LPA and the highest package of INR 18LPA.

•  Internships are available to learn the topics practically.
•  ISRO provides internships to the students with a stipend. Institute is partnered with 150+ international companies.

Hostels facilities are provided separately for girls and boys, with delicious food, hygienic mess, and all basic facilities for the students.

• Institute provides virtual labs for Biotechnology which is collaborated with IIT Delhi & Mumbai at the national level.
