NMAT - NMIMS Management Aptitude Test

NMAT is commonly called NMIMS Management Aptitude Test conducted by the Graduate Management Aptitude Council (GMAC). It is considered to be a National Level Entrance Examination. NMAT is conducted for the candidates interested in pursuing MBA or other Post graduate program In India.

The programmes are offered by Narsee Monjee Institute of Manangement Study (NMIMS) and other colleges. This offers a two years degree program in MBA. This is having a legacy of 35 years and considered amongst the top B schools in India. They have 4 campuses at Mumbai, Shirpur, Bengaluru & Hyderabad.

The following are the important exam dates of NMAT . The candidates can follow the dates of the exam . The Registration of NMAT has started from July itself and it will continue till October.

NMAT Eligibility criteria

The candidates interested to appear for NMAT, need to follow some set rules for eligibility Criteria to appear for the exam. If the criteria’s are not matching by the exam authority then it might happen that the application form registered by the student can get cancelled.
The application form has possessed from July and the eligible candidates can apply for the application form till October.

The following are the NMAT eligibility criteria the candidates need to follow:

  • The candidates need to be a graduate having fulltime Bachelor’s degree in any discipline form a recognized university or institutions are eligible to apply.
  • The minimum aggregate of marks to be obtained at least 50% in graduation.
  • The candidates appearing for final year exam are also eligible to appear for this exam.
  • The candidates need to submit the mark sheets at the time of document verification at the time of the admission process.
  • The exam authority will consider only the combined mark sheets.
  • If some colleges are having grading system, then the candidates need to submit authentic documents approved by the university, that is the substitute for marks.
  • There is no age bar for the candidates to appear for this entrance test.

NMAT Application Form & fees

MAT Registration has already started online from 4th July onwards. The application form will be available only online on the official website. The applicants can do the registration form fill up till 3rd October or can fill the form with the submission of the late fee till 12th October. After the completion of the registration, the students will get a verification mail of the username and password in their mail address.

Application Fee:
The registration fee can be paid through online or offline mode. The payment can be done by Visa or Master Card/ Net banking/Credit or Debit card/ Diners card/ Demand draft(DD).

NMAT Online procedure to be followed by the applicants while doing the form fills up:

  • The applicant need to  access the direct link provided on the official website for accessing the NMAT Application Form.
  • Then the link “Register Now” and click on to begin with the online registration process. After clicking on the “Register Now” link, the applicants should enter a valid email ID and click on “No, I am a new user” tab.
  • Followed by a new page will appear for the registration details, the applicants are required to enter their name (first and last) and password. After providing all the details, candidates should click on the “Register and Sign In”.
  • Hence a new window will appear for GMAC NMAT Application Form and an email will be sent on the registered email ID of the applicant for the verification of email ID.
  • The candidates are advised to fill the required details in the online application form, like their personal, academic qualification and work experience details. Then the candidate will have to choose the course they are willing to pursue.
  • The candidates should check all the details filled by them carefully, as after the submission changes cannot be done. After a proper review of the details, candidates should click on “Submit” button for submitting the online application form.
  • Candidates will now have to choose the management institutes/schools where they would like to send their NMAT score to. The option to make the choices will be provided under the “Programme Details” section. Up to 7 choices can be filled in by the candidates on the basis of one-time payment of the registration fee.
  • After this the applicants should pay the application fee to complete the process.
  • The candidate should upload a recent photograph in the application form.  
  • After successful Online NMAT Registration, the applicant will receive a mail with NMAT ID. The candidates can use this ID for any future use regarding NMAT.

NMAT Syllabus & Exam Pattern

The candidates interested for NMAT should have a check on the exam pattern which is important part of the Examination. The exam is Computer Based. It is a window test pattern, the exam will be conducted in 75 days from 7th October to 20th December. Through the details of the exam pattern, the students will have an idea of how to prepare themselves for the entrance test.
The following are the few important exam details:

  • Computer based exam
  • All objective type questions having MCQ pattern
  • The question paper will consist of 3 divisions: Language skills, Quantitative skills and Logical Reasoning.
  • There will be total 120 questions.
  • In duration of a year period, the applicant is allowed to sit for the exam for a maximum period of 3 times.
  • If the candidates are not satisfied with marks obtained in the exam at the first attempt, they can plan for a retake.

NMAT Admit Card

MAT admit card will be available on the official website. If the candidate has successfully completed the registration procedure, then they are eligible to go to the next step in downloading the admit card. The candidates need to take the print out of the admit card with their recent photograph. For the retake exam candidates they have to carry the admit card of their first as per the attempt. The candidates are advised to carry the admit card to the exam center and get the signature of the test administrator on the day of the test.

EXAM Slot: The applicants are allowed to schedule their exam according to the date, time and test center of their own preference availability. The slot will be considered on the first come, first serve basis.

NMAT Results & Score Card

NMAT Result will get announced after the examination gets over. It will be declared within 4-5 weeks of the examination. It will be available on the official website of NMAT. The candidates will get the notification in their mail id that the results are available. Then the applicants need to login to the account and check the scores. In the meanwhile the applicants score card will be sent to the institutions as per their selection at the time of the form fill up.

NMAT Counselling & Admission

After the declaration of the result, the admission procedure of NMAT will begin. The merit list will be prepared according to the marks obtained by the candidates. AS per the merit list, the selection procedure will begin. The selected applicants will be called for the group discussion and personal interview in Mumbai and Bangalore.

The candidates need to carry the NMAT admit card. The candidates will be given a call letter, which they need to download from the official website. The applicants are advised to carry the call letter as well for the GD and PI. After this, finally the candidates will be selected on the basis of their academic scores, work experience, NMAT Scores and their performances on GD and PI. The candidates will get a seat according to the final merit list as per their chosen options for the institutes.

NMAT Application Form Fee Details:

  • NMAT Application Form Fee costs Rs 1800 + Taxes.
  • NMAT Application Form Fee with the late payment of fee costs Rs. 2000 + taxes.
  • The candidates want to retake the NMAT exam, Pre-Retake Fee will cost Rs. 1800 + taxes.
  • If the candidates want to reschedule the NMAT exam, the Pre- Reschedule Fee will cost Rs. 1000 + taxes.

  • After declaration of NMAT Result, the authority of the exam will release the NMAT cutoff. Let us know the expected NMAT cutoff based on section wise and overall: 
  • For the Quantitative Skills section, the NMAT score ranges from 0-144.
  • For the Language skills section, the NMAT score ranges from 0-96.
  • For the Logical Reasoning Skills, the NMAT score ranges from 0-120.
  • The overall NMAT cutoff ranges from 0-360.
