India has thousands of engineering aspirants every year. Government exams like JEE Main help fill seats in IITs, NITs, and other public institutes. But private universities want more control over how they pick students. So they design their own tests, built around their own syllabus, pattern, and cutoffs.
This means a student who does not crack JEE Advanced still has a real shot at a great college. It also means you cannot rely on one exam alone. Preparing for two or three tests, rather than just one, can open more doors.
BITSAT (BITS Pilani)
BITSAT stands for the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test. It is the gateway to one of India's most respected private universities, BITS Pilani, which has campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Exam pattern: BITSAT is a computer-based test.
