Eligibility Criteria for B Tech Admission in Uttar Pradesh

 Academic Qualification: Applicants who are seeking to apply for B Tech admission in UP shall have passed in 10+2 examination with required 40-45% aggregate marks in science stream from any recognized board (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as main subjects). As per the government's norms, 5% of relaxation in aggregate marks is provided for the candidates who belong to SC/ST Category.

Domicile Rules: Uttar Pradesh residents/domicile candidates can secure B Tech admission in UP state. The reservation policy for admission into B Tech, Tuition wavier scheme, scholarship schemes is applicable only for the UP-domicile candidates. Even the candidates who belong to UP state are also eligible to secure B Tech admission but not in government engineering colleges of UP. Such candidates are not eligible for the fees waiver scheme.

Application Process for B Tech Admission in Uttar Pradesh

To secure admission for the B Tech course in UP, candidates must register for the UPSEE entrance exam and clear it with a valid score. UPSEE application forms are made available at the official website of AKTU, and candidates are required to apply via online mode. Check out the following steps to fill up the application form.

Step 1: Firstly, candidates need to register themselves by entering all the required details to complete the registration process

Step 2: Upon successful registration, new login credentials will be generated. Using these credentials, candidates must sign up to open the application form portal.

Step 3: Proceed to fill up the application form by entering all the relevant details mentioned in the form.

Step 4: Upload the scanned images of colored photographs, signature, left-hand thumb impression, and relevant educational documents in a prescribed format.

Step 5: Candidates must pay the stipulated application fee charges via online and offline mode. UPSEE application fees for General / OBC costs INR 1300 and for SC/ ST/ PWD Category costs INR 650

Step 6: After the successful payment, candidates need to submit the form and required to take the print out of the confirmation page for further reference

B Tech Admission Process in Uttar Pradesh

CAB (Central Admission Board), headed under AKTU, organizes the B Tech admission process into B Tech Programme at UP. Generally, B Tech admission will be granted based on 10+2 merit, UPSEE entrance exam, and JEE Main valid score is also acceptable. Admission criteria in Government and Private engineering colleges of UP vary. Detailed information regarding the UP B Tech admission process is elaborated on below.

• B. Tech admission process in UP is purely based on the merit of candidates' scores in the UPSEE entrance exam. Candidates with valid UPSEE or JEE Main entrance exam scores are eligible to secure UP B Tech colleges' admission.
• After completing the entrance exam, the authority will prepare the merit list of qualified candidates by considering their score in the entrance exam and 10+2 aggregate marks to shortlist the students.
• Candidates whose name is featured in the merit list need to appear for an online counseling session for the further selection process. Once the counseling session is completed, the seat allotment process will be done.
• A maximum number of seats for B Tech course at UP engineering colleges is reserved for UPSEE merit quota, and 15% of seats in private engineering colleges of UP are reserved for Management Quota/NRI Quota.
• Uttar Pradesh government allotted 10% of seats in private engineering colleges for the outside candidates of UP, and such allotted seats can be filled up through academic merit/JEE Main Score.

According to the AICTE norms, meritorious students but economically weaker in society are eligible to get B.Tech admission in UP under the tuition fee waiver scheme. Hence, the engineering colleges don’t charge any stipulated tuition fee from candidates enrolled under the fee waiver scheme. In UP, 5% of seats are reserved for the tuition fee waiver scheme, and it is applicable only for the UP-domicile candidates.

Counselling Process for B Tech admission in Uttar Pradesh.

Candidates who have qualified in the UPSEE entrance exam with valid scores can appear for a centralized counseling session. To take part in UPSEE counseling, candidates are required to register online. The UPSEE counseling session concludes at different stages, and the complete counseling procedure is mentioned below stepwise.

Step 1-Registration: Firstly, candidates need to register for counseling by visiting the respective portal of UPSEE. Click on the available which states “UP B Tech Counselling.” Candidates must enter the UPSEE application number and password to complete the registration process. To be noted, B Tech online counseling registration will be allowed only for the UPSEE qualifiers. Candidates who have secured in JEE Main should individually apply the desired institute's application form.

Step 2-Document Verification: Candidates are required to upload the scanned copies of required educational documents in the prescribed size. The respective authority will verify the documents in the online mode itself.

Step 3-Payment of registration fees: After completing document verification, candidates have been advised to pay the UP-B Tech registration processing fees according to their category wise. The general category needs to pay the fee of around INR 20,000, whereas SC/ST Category should pay INR 12,000.

The registration fees/ processing fees, which have been paid by the students later, will be adjusted with 1st year B Tech tuition fees. After the seat allotment process, candidates must pay the remaining tuition fees.

Step 4-Choice filling and Lock: This process will be held in online mode as per the authority's prescribed given schedule. Candidates who have successfully paid the registration fees are eligible to fill up the choice form online. The List of colleges will display on the screen, and candidates can choose the maximum number of desired colleges according to their preference.

If candidates are sure about the choices filled in the form, click on the “Lock” option and submit it. Once the submission is made, it cannot be edited.

Seat Allotment Process for B Tech in Uttar Pradesh

According to the online choice entry form, which the applicants submit, AKTU will declare the seat allotment results on its respective website. Candidates can check the seat allotment order by visiting the respective website of AKTU.

• Candidates who are satisfied with the seat allotment order can choose the “freeze” option to confirm the seat. In the case of candidates who seek the up-gradation of the seat must choose the ‘Float Option,’ and such candidates can take part in subsequent rounds of the seat allotment process.
• If candidates wish to opt-out from the admission process, they need to choose a withdrawal option, and such candidates will not be allowed to take part in further rounds of the seat allotment process. INR 200 will be deducted from registration fees, and the remaining fee will be refunded.
• After confirming the seat, candidates should report to the respective college and the seat allotment order and be required to pay the remaining tuition fees for admission confirmation.
