The minimum eligibility criteria for the UG program is to have passed 10+2 board exams in the science stream with PCM subjects with a minimum of 55% aggregate scores. The selections are based on academic merit, followed by JEE Main or UPTAC entrance exam scores. 

For MBA and M-Tech admissions, the applicants must have passed a bachelor's degree in the relevant stream with min a 55% mark. The selections are based on CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ UPCET/ GATE.

The college canteen provides good quality food at reasonable rates. The main hostels at Vidya College of Engineering include Suvarna and Ananda. The boys' hostel has 250 rooms on a twin-sharing basis, bringing the total number of students inside to around 500. Both hostels offer basic hostel facilities like TV, games, music, telephone and reading facilities.
