Vasantrao Naik Marathawada Agriculture University was established in the academic year 1972 is one among the top 4 agricultural universities in Maharashtra. This university imparts education in the field of agriculture and allied science. This university also takes up research on the regional requirements and facilitate technology.

• VNMKU provides excellent agricultural education, allied science and humanities. This institute also develop a suitable plan for natural resource conservation and sustainable use. • VNMKU offers courses like B.Tech, MBA, B.Sc., M.Sc., M.tech in the field of agriculture for which the admissions are done based on the entrance exam and also merit based. The admissions for B.Tech and M.Tech admissions are based on the common entrance exam and for B.Sc. and M.Sc. admissions are done based on the merit in the qualifying exams.
• The library in VNMKV is an important learning centre for students with its distinctive collection of books, journals, periodicals and databases. It comprises of 86,708 books, 240 journals, 27,077 periodicals and 70 e-books.

VNMKU also provides various technologies which help the rural communities with crop production, harvesting, protection, marketing, and for livestock, agro communities and fisheries for improvising the lives of farmers and women, farm workers of Marathwada.
