Kurukshetra University established the University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET) in 2004 with the main objective of developing as a center of excellence and offering quality education. It is a government/ Public Institute located on the Kurukshetra University campus. The goal of the institution is to offer top-notch engineering education by conducting technology-related research. The World Bank supplied the initial funding for the UIET Kurukshetra, which now runs as an autonomous university.

UIET was established under the State Legislature Act XII of 1956. Besides, UIET Kurukshetra engineering college has UGC recognition under the 12(B) and 2(F) section. It is a dream institution for aspiring engineers, and it has quickly established itself as one of Haryana's top technical schools, with accreditation from NAAC. UIET Kurukshetra courses have approval from AICTE Delhi.

The three available degrees in the UEIT are Bachelors in Technology (BTech), Masters in Technology (MTech), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The Institute provides four B.Tech programs with a Specialisation/ Minor Degree in various emerging engineering subjects. The completion of UIET Kurukshetra courses is credit-based, with each major specialization requiring 160 credits and an additional 18 - 20 credits for minor specialization. UIET Kurukshetra B Tech fees are INR 1.4 Lakhs per annum. The tuition fee for M Tech is INR 1.2 Lakhs.

UIET Kurukshetra admission procedure is done as per the guidelines specified by the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES). Students are essential to have valid scores in qualifying common entrance examinations. Following the announcement of the results, aspirants must register for centralized counseling, giving preference to UIET Kurukshetra. After that, the HSTES will announce the merit list. Aspirants whose names are encompassed on the merit list must attend the UIET Kurukshetra counseling. Seats will be assigned according to merit, and UIET Kurukshetra Cut off norms.

UIET Kurukshetra BTech admission requires students to appear in either the national level JEE mains examination or the Online entrance test conducted by HSTES. However, students applying based on JEE Main must reach the UIET Kurukshetra JEE main cutoff

M tech admission in UIET Kurukshetra requires students to attend the national GATE examination. The GATE scores determine the selection process. And in case of vacancy, the selection is through the marks obtained in their BE degree. UIET Kurukshetra eligibility criteria include a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

The campus is student-oriented, with the best infrastructure. The facilities include a sports complex, central library, laboratories, medicare center, swimming pool, hostels, auditorium, etc. The hostel present on the campus accommodates around 4000 students. The UIET Kurukshetra hostel fee, excluding mess charges, is INR 15,000 per year, while the mess fees is INR 1.5k to INR 2K.
