Padmabhooshan Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Technology is commonly known as PVPIT. The College came into existence in  1983. The College was established in honor of the late Shri Vasantdada Patil, the Sahakar Maharshi and former chief minister of Maharashtra. It is enumerated under the Bombay Public Trust Act of 1950 and the Societies Registration Act of 1860. PVPIT college of engineering's foundation was laid by the late Yeshwantrao Chavan, a former deputy prime minister. The goal of College is to create the best standards of education while upholding the highest human values.

PVP Institute of Technology has been approved to provide degree programs in various engineering streams by the Maharashtra government, the University of Mumbai, and AICTE. The College is associated with Shivaji University. The primary goal of PVPIT Bhudhgaon is to establish itself as a well-known institution by providing students with great practical improvement and giving back to the community via creative educational initiatives.

PVPIT Budhgaon courses are offered in undergraduate, postgraduate, and Diploma programs. B Tech, M Tech, and Diploma are the courses available. B Tech courses are available in 9 distinct disciplines. M Tech is available in 5 disciplines. The branches that exist in PVPIT are Chemical, Civil, CSE, AI & Data Science, EEE, ECE, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation & Control, and Mechanical. In addition, PVPIT Budhgaon Diploma Courses are available in  7 engineering disciplines.

Through teaching, research, consulting, and service, the College's mission is to meet the short- and long-term needs for engineering manpower for the region's social, technological, and economic development and the country. The Institute boasts 140 eminent professors with backgrounds in both academia and industry. The PVPIT Budhgaon faculty instruct the candidates using cutting-edge teaching techniques.

PVPIT admissions is through the Centralized Admission Process conducted by the Maharashtra state government. The admissions for B.E is based on merit in MHT CET and  JEE main. All the applicants must satisfy the PVPIT Budhgaon Cut off criteria to be eligible for admission seats through CAP counseling. The College also provides lateral entry for diplomas and B.Sc degree holders in the second year of Engineering. The seats for the Institute are 85% for Students from Maharastra and the remaining 15% for students from all over India. PVPIT Budhgaon college's code for DTE is 6269. Students interested in M Tech courses at PVPIT College require to have GATE scores with a degree in B.E from a government-recognized institute.

The 36 acres of land make up the PVP College Budhgaon Campus. It is well-equipped with modern amenities like a library collection with 57,000 books, a digital library, an Internet facility, a gymkhana, indoor and outdoor games, a counseling cell, a canteen, a medical facility, an ATM, an open theatre, and an auditorium. PVPIT’s mission is to serve the community and industry by offering candidates top-notch technical and engineering education. On its grounds, the Institute features a multistory hostel facility that can house up to 500 students. For 200 girls, there is a separate ladies' hostel. Parents who are visiting can use the guest house. PVPIT  hostel fees is yearly INR 35000/-.

The College also offers additional training sessions such as communication development and technical skills per current Industrial demands. PVPIT Budhgaon Placement cell holds various workshops to prepare students for the workplace. The placement cell supports the infrastructure for initial placement talks, aptitude tests, group discussions, and interviews.

More than 30 businesses visit the campus every year to hire talented students. Some of the top recruiters of PVPIT are IBM, Infosys, TCS, Amazon, HCL, KPT, Persistent, Ugam Solutions, Wipro, Cognizant, etc. In 2021 Drive, PVPIT Budhgaon highest package offered was INR 12 Lakhs per annum. In contrast, the average package offered INR 4 LPA. Around 133 students got placed.
