Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT-Nagpur) is a public technical institution located in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Initially, VNIT Nagpur came into existence as Visvesvaraya Regional College in 1960. Thus, it is the oldest technical institution, established 61 years ago. The main goal of creating Regional Engineering Colleges was to promote national cohesion by disseminating high-quality technical education nationwide. The institute was named in honor of Eminent Engineer Planner Sir M Visveswaraya. In 2007, VNIT was recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Indian Government. The undergraduate NIT Nagpur BTech covers eight distinct engineering specialties, which are highly renowned. To be eligible, applicants must have received at least 60% on their 10+2 exam.
