K.A. P. Viswanatham Government Medical College is located in the Rockfort City heart and the institute is named after K. A. P. Viswanatham. It was started in the year 1997 and approved by MCI. This college is most popular Government Medical College, which is popularly called as KVGMC Trichy. The college's mission is to further develop and apply the knowledge acquired to promote the medical care and needy health through learning, research and discovery based on need and problem solving. The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital is affiliated to the K.A.P.V Medical College and it is 2 km from the university campus. The institute specializes in health sciences & medicine with the main will to help and serve the citizens with a focus on socially important medical education along with medical care.

• K.A.P.V Medical College, admission to MBBS programme is based on the marks obtained in NEET UG exam and for PG level course (M.D./ M.S.) it is based on  NEET PG score and even based on merit score admission is done.
• K.A.P.V Medical College MBBS course fee is INR 65K (5 ½ years) with total intake of 150 per year. Entrance examination based students can opt. for the MBBS course and the examination will be held in the month of February and August. M.S. course and M.D. course fee is INR 90K for the complete three years.
