Madurai Medical College was founded in 1954 by the Tamil Nadu government and is with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. University of Medicine. The institution shows a great improvement in the teaching of higher education in the field of medicine. • MMC is associated with the Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital, where several types of cases occur every day and aspirants have the opportunity to experience and learn in practical and are therefore very familiar with the field.

• MMC offers Diploma course, UG degree, PG degree, PG diploma, Super speciality and Certificate courses.
• In MMC, the MBBS course fee structure is INR 1.03L (5 years), B.Pharm course fee is INR 83K (4 years), MD/MS programme fee is INR 67K (2 years), fee structure of DM course is INR 1.00L (3 years), B.Sc. course fee is INR 1.27L in the nursing field with 4 years duration period. Other courses such as M. Pharm, MS Ophthalmology, M.Ch and Diploma course fee is affordable and reasonable range.
• MMC admission to the courses offered is based on NEET UG, NEET PG and also merit based for the final selection process.
• MMC offers various scholarships under 2 awards i.e. Chief Minister’s award and Anna award. Under CM award amount of INR 3K is issued as scholarship amount every year and INR 10K is issued under Anna award.
